Great Improvement over Gen
I have a Gen I Viper PST 6-24X50 and it is a pretty good scope but the Gen II is light years better. The glass is much improved, the turrets and zero stop are also better. One thing I find that's a great improvement is that the Gen II has a much larger eye box. It's much easier to find that sweet spo...

bad scope with bad fish-eye at close ranges on lower magnification
The scope felt nice, had nice turrets but its no good when it looks like your looking through a fish bowl. This effect was very noticeable when looking at a chain link fence and scanning the fence, you could see the picture of the fence bending as the scope moved along.
It's a Beast
I thought the Vortex scopes I had were pretty good, until I got this one. It's next level. The glass quality, coatings, build, features - everything about it is next level. I didn't understand what the difference is between upper-tier scopes and the budget scopes were .. until I got my hands on this. Definitely worth the money.
If you haven't gotten any quality optics yet - introduce yourself to the next level with Viper series glass. It's night and day.

Vortex PST
I own a couple dozen scopes, some Vortex, some others but for the money the PST series are the best

Great value
Scope has great tactile clicks for adjustments, positive tracking, great glass clarity, good zero stop. Overall great value for shooters looking for feature rich scope with high end utility without the high end price.
Pros:
- Clarity
- positive adjustments
- feature rich
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- entry level long distance shooting
Would recommend: Yes
Haven’t shot with it yet. I will be mounting it on an M1A loaded synthetic stick-All black.
Other dealers sell this item at $1400+. At Optics it is sold at $800+. Not sure why the difference. I was told that Vortex products have really great warranty. Delivered earlier than promised which is great.
Pros:
- Great Optics for tge price
Cons:
- Missing flip lens covers which would have been great for this product
Would recommend: Yes
Lots of features for the money
Very similar to my Trijicon Ten Mile for 1/3 the cost. FFP, illuminated reticle, mrad tree. The eye relief is generous. Turrets are crisp and tactile. The zerostop setting is a little unorthodox so READ the manual BEFORE sighting in and save yourself a second trip! The only delta in glass between my high end scopes and this one is low light conditions, but not by a huge delta.
Pros:
- feature rich
Cons:
- Low light compared to glass 3x the price, but thats expected
Best Used for:
- Mid tier builds
Would recommend: Yes
