walker game ear micro elite sound amplifier
I have hearing loss from to much range time with no ear protection. I bought these for deer hunting from my stand. I was very impressed with these devices. Walker sent me everything I needed to get started. I could hear sounds that I was not aware of before. I could hear the tv much better. I will n...

Not worth the $$$ - Disappointing performance.
Purchased and tried out this product in 3 locations - each one yielding disappointing results. Too much feedback from the blowing breeze, own breathing, etc. These might help someone out who has significant hearing loss (aka as a hearing aid) but for a hunter with normal hearing trying to gain an ...

Junk, save your money in my opinion there is much better products out there for a lot less
I've had better luck with much cheaper products, I was very disappointed the volume button is touchy. For a person that is tone deaf the volume tone can be hard to hear.i got my hopes up on this product and it really let me down

Second Set
I have just received my second set of the Micro Elite game ear and not only am I enjoying hearing all I was missing, but I think my wife loves that she does not have to repeat everything. I saw in one review that they over amplified everything. I suggest trying the different settings. I do suffer from a fair amount of hearing loss, so they are wonderful for me, but I have found that having the turned up too loud or in the wrong setting can do just like he said and over amplify everything. I was sitting on the diving board working on a hose yesterday and I heard my nephew trying to sneak up behind me and scared the fire out of him. I use them daily, not just hunting, but for me they work wonders in the woods or duck hole.
Pros:
- Price
- Quality
- Fit
- noise reduction
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- hunting
- everyday

Follow up to previous review
I absolutely love the game ear. Once I figured out what tips fit me best and were the most comfortable, I hated to not have them in. Only draw back I had, my wife's dog got both of them off my night side stand and chewed them both beyond recognition. I have ordered another set, that is how sold I am on them, but I can assure you they will not be placed where the little destroyer can get to them again. A little too expensive for chew toys.
Pros:
- long battery life
- small and descrete
Cons:
- Not dog proof

Amazing what I have been missing...
I have had them for one full week now and I am very pleased with the performance so far. I will be trying out the sound protection feature tomorrow when we go dove hunting, I am anxious to see how that works, since 99% of the reason I purchased these was for hunting. I have been playing with them, selecting modes, volume, tips for fit and wanting to get an idea of how long the batteries will last. So far, wearing them all day (not at night or in the shower), they are still working great on the first set of batteries I installed.
It has been quite amazing to hear what I have been missing. I tried putting them on the outdoor / hunting mode just to try and see how they worked, but I made the mistake of doing that in a fairly noisy area. I almost could not handle all the sounds coming in my ears at one time. I am anxious to get out in the woods and hear what I can hear.
Love these things so far...

Gift for dad
Wow - My dad isn't computer savy and would never leave a review, but I felt obligated to do so on his behalf because he is always raving about these. His $3,500 hearing aids went out on him last year and I picked these up as a gift for him to hunt with because his hearing aids didn't offer any protection from a gun shot. Well long story short, he thinks these are just as good if not better than his hearing aids for $700. Little does he know I paid closer to $400! Best son of the year award goes to me!
Just make sure if you use these for shooting that you have the foam tips attached or they don't protect quite as well. He found that out the hard way last weekend while shooting and thought they weren't working as well anymore, but I was able to determine he didn't have the tips attached. I joked with him and said I think his hearing is just getting better.
