Terrific Service

by Paul, Verified Owner from MN, United States Written on November 4, 2024
For reasons not related to Optics Planet I first ordered the wrong set of rings. Optics Planet help me research the correct rings, sent the replacement rings and emailed me the necessary information to return the wrong set - all at no additional cost to me. I'll be ordering from Planet Optics again.

perfect, secure fit on my 2015 5.56 mini-14

by sempergumbi, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on November 11, 2021
There is nothing better than the precise, solid feel of these rings. Rather than mounting a rail and then using weaver or Picatinny, these Warne Ruger rings made a direct connection between your optic and the receiver. It feels very elegant and solid. There's about 3/16" clearance for the sliding bolt on the mini-14, and generous clearance between my scope and the rifle barrel. I used these to mount a 4x32 Zeiss scope on my 2015 5.56 mini-14 (serial 583-*; stainless barrel.) This scope has a 1.5" diameter front optical bell.

One difficulty I had with installation was placing the small silver-colored keys into the receiver slots, before mounting the ring clamps into the dovetail notches. These small crossways keys were a very tight fit in my receiver, and I had to tap them in gently with a brass hammer. This is perhaps by design, and I think this should only increase the stability of the connection.

Of course another pro would be Warne manufactures in the United States. Fit and finish is excellent, and they seem to have a good warranty, although I don't expect to have to use it.

Did not fit

by Odin, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on April 15, 2020
Did not fit rear dove tail on 190 series ranch rifle. The screws of the rings would bottom out before tightening to the dovetail. The rings them selves seemed machined well, but did not work in this application.
Pros:
  • Well machined.
Cons:
  • Did not fit rear dovetail

significant upgrade from Ruger factory rings

by RICH, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on December 17, 2017
Used these Warne rings on a Ruger 77/17 in 17 WSM. Very high quality well machined set of rings. Very
easy to mount. Much easier to adjust cross hairs than the somewhat crude factory supplied rings. Sold my factory rings since I will always use Warne rings on a Ruger. They also make a version for Picatinney rails.
Cost less than Ruger rings, especially at Optics Planet.
Pros:
  • quality product
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Ruger Rifles
