Base review correction
In an earlier review I criticized the bases for not being straight with the receiver; this was incorrect! After further examination the Warne bases are fine. The problem was an improper fit with the scope rings. It was a ring problem, not a base problem. The bases fit other rings I have just fine. ie, no problem with the bases. They are machined correctly! Just wanted to correct my error.
Warne Maxima Scope Base
I always use the Warne Maxima scope bases for all of my rifles. Their steel construction and precision manufacturing are always solid and fit perfectly. If you're looking for a solid set of bases and rings, you won't be disappointed with Warne Maxima.

Base skewed
I installed these bases on a M70 for a Weaver scope and after zeroing I only had about 3 minutes of left wind adjustment. These bases replaced the Weaver #46 / 47 combination with which I had plenty of wind and elevation adjustment. Wither the front or the rear are skewed to the right so much as to make them unusable. Maybe I just got a bad set?

First OP purchase
If you want a heavy base this is it. I feel front base is too long, either hangs over port or over barrel depending on which way it is installed. Installed on 325 WSM Mod 70. Havn't shot it yet. Waiting on Scope to come in.

Great Products
Warne always has great products and these bases are no different. Perfect fit and rock solid. Along with Warne rings they create a solid lock up for the scope. No movement ever. I highly recommend these products to who ever wants a solid solid scope mounted to their firearm.

My new favorite 2 piece bases
These, in combination with the QD rings are my new favorite set-up. I got them for a new Model 70 Featherweight I am turning into a practical rifle and they are perfect.
