Most Helpful Positive Review Weaver 2x handgun scope
I've used this for several years on .22 handguns The scope has very good quality optics. Bright, good in low light probably due partly to relatively wider aperture. Customer service was great when I lost a cover. I recommend the 2x over higher power because of larger field of view. Great value f...

Most Helpful Negative Review falls short
I mounted this optic on a .44 mag revolver. Compact enough to fit well. Easy to zero and after 200 rounds of hunting ammo it has maintained zero. Eye relief however is totally inadequate for use on a handgun. Optics are clear and bright enough for daylight and light shade but the combination of bri...

Eye relief concerns dismissed

by Pistol mike, from MT, United States Written on May 16, 2017
Was a bit sceptical when ordering this scope due to some questionable comments relative to adequate eye relief for a large cal. Handgun. I mounted it on a S&W 44 mag perf ctr hunter. This is my primary deer hunting weapon for Whitetail. With only a limited
Number of rounds so far , approx 100 . GREAT, clear glass , good field of view , quick acquisition of target , and more than adequate
Eye relief. No recoil probs as yet , Time will tell on that , looking forward to another hunt

Ideal pistol scope

I have this mounted on a Ruger Mark IV 22. It's very light weight, has clear glass, and absolutely ideal eye relief. The combination allows shooting off hand with arms extended fully. I appreciate also the 50yd parallax setting; though it could be shorter, at least it's not 100 yards.

Weaver Pistol Scope

by Swede, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on January 17, 2017
The Weaver pistol scope despite being priced below many of it competitors (and I have owned two) offers the clearest view. At 2X it does not lend itself to the 200-yard hunting shots, but using a handgun at 200 yards for big-game hunting is a bit suspect. Highly recommended for short-range hunting.

weaver 2 power handgun scope

by Handgunner, from MO, United States Written on January 11, 2016
Have fired about 150 44mag rounds. So far this scope has held up. The body of the scope and turrets are one piece and look well made. Eye relief is exellent.User can quickly find a target in the field. The turrets do not reset to zero after sighting in. So dailing in a yardage does not work well with these turrets.

Short eye relief

by LR, from NJ, United States Written on May 18, 2015
It's a nice little scope for a scout rifle or rimfire pistol application. I can hold 2 1/2" groups at 100 yards with my semiauto rimfire pistol topped with this scope.

Eye relief is far shorter than advertised and is more like 11-13". Did not work well at all on a Redhawk in 44 mag.

Clarity/brightness of optics does not even come close to US made pistol scopes.
Pros:
  • Lightweight
  • compact
Cons:
  • Short eye relief
  • no recticle options
  • coin windage and elevation adjustment
Best Used for:
  • rimfire target

I put this scope on my Ruger MkIII competition model pistol. I use this pistol for silhouette matches. It holds zero well and is easy to use. It works great the glass is clear. I would recommend this to my friends.

Weaver Classic 2X28 Handgun Scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on July 22, 2013
This scope has excellent optics. Clear and bright with a good field of view. 1/4 " adjustments make it very easy to sight in. As good or better that more expensive handgun scopes I have.
Pros: Clear, bright optics. Excellent value

Excellent Scope !!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on May 22, 2011
This scope is great for my Ruger Super Redhawk .44 Magnum. It has taken the shock of my most packed handloads and never had a problem. The only bad part was when I received the scope it was all marked up. This was because the scope can slide around in the box. I guess Weaver doesn't think it's important to secure the scope in the box tightly. Optics Planet immediately shipped me out another. Fortunately the new one wasn't scratched like the other one, but it was still loose in the box.
Pros: Very Clear and Durable!
Cons: Weaver does not pack it tight in box, it slides around a lot .
