Most Helpful Positive Review 48448 Weaver Detachable Top Mount Rings. 1in. Extended X-High
Perfect for my Springfield M1A with a Bassett mount (which has a fairly short Picatinny rail), and Nikon scope. When I ordered the rings, I wasn't sure if both rings would have the extension. They did, which really helped. Not sure why rings cost this much, but the Weavers aren't markedly more th...

Finally positions the scope further rearward

New rifle with long buttstock made it impossible to get full field of view even with long eye relief scope at max magnification power. Ring set cured the problem. Simple cure would be for all rifle manufacturers would be to HAVE SPACERS INCLUDED TO MODIFY LENGTH FOR PROPER EYE RELIEF, for example Savage and a few other manufacturers.

Clearly used...

by Victor, from MI, United States Written on September 13, 2019
The rings are clearly used and even somewhat corroded. Just figured they'd be new. The related mounts made by Warne are pretty awesome though. First time dealing with them, so far the fit and finish is great!

always reliaiable weaver top mount rings

by ca shooter, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on July 16, 2017
I bought these rings because i needed to mount as 3 x 9 x50 scope on a Winchester model 70. I needed to move scope back some for proper eye relief. I used the weaver chart to choose the right ring height and they worked perfectly. Inexpensive solution thanks to optics planet pricing. Weaver is an old name often overlooked when scope mounting systems are considered. I have used other brands that are good but alot more expensive. For price, reliability, and simplicity they are the best. One more note. I have never had to shim a weaver ring set because heights were off. Can't say that about other major brands.
Pros:
  • price,light weight,reliability
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • mounting a scope

Weaver Extension Top Mount Rings

by drrjc, from CA, United States Written on August 1, 2016
Excellent reasonably-priced product if you need extended 30-mm rings. Not quite as convenient as the Weaver Quad-Lock style, but those are only available in 1-inch diameter. Consider ordering ring height a bit higher (the next size up) than the minimum for your objective lens diameter.
Pros:
  • Priced well.
Cons:
  • slotted style screws

GoodExcept

by Dalea, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on June 10, 2016
Good rings in general. The Extension ring allowed us to obtain good eye relief for our scope. Would be better with 4 screws to mount top of ring half rather than an angle side (to interlock with the saddle) & 2 screws.

Extension rings

by Shootcast, from MD, United States Written on April 10, 2016
I have several sets of these on many scopes. You get the right eye relief you want to put the scope just were you want it. Work great and are reasonably priced. I use them a lot on T/C Contender carbine's. You can leave the rings on the scope but switch scopes from hunting to target etc. with just a coin or screwdriver. Back and forth when ever you want without much hassle. With some set ups it maybe the only reasonable way to mount your particular scope to your rifle. Try them , I think you will like them.

49090 Weaver Extension Top Rings. Medium, 1 inch.

by freealfin, from AZ, United States Written on December 6, 2015
The front ring is functional while the rear fails to provide the "extension" feature because a scope's turret housing can't slip past the top of the clamp portion and reach anywhere near the ring. The advertised extension can't be used.
Best Used for:
  • Scopes without elevation or wingade adjustment
