Excellent vise block
I recently purchased this vice block for my first AR build. I wanted an aluminum vise block over a plastic one after seeing a buddy's plastic vise block distort when he was tightening a barrel nut. This vise block is excellent quality with a great fit and finish. I have now used it on multiple AR uppers and it has fit all of them properly and has not marred the finish. I feel that my uppers are secure when I am working on them and I am not worried about this vise block breaking as I am torquing my barrel nuts to spec.
Excellent Upper/Pic Rail Vise Block
Used with the picatinny Rail. this vise will securely hold your AR Upper Receiver in place for servicing. I would recommend using the Rail Mount Side, which is much more secure over the tabs on the upper, which could break under high tension. Use it in conjunction with a Reaction / Upper Receiver Rod to hold barrel in proper alignment while servicing the barrel or muzzle device.

Decent, But Expected More
I bought this specifically for my build with an Aero Precision Enhanced Upper. The pin holes are slightly too small because of the front attachment built in to the receiver. I’ll keep it, but expect more from Wheeler.

Good Product
I have vise clamps for the AR15. I decided to build a DMR in .308,so I needed another tool. I have only used it once but it seems to be a quality product. The picatinny rail clamp I have not used but it does seem to be another option. I would purchase again.

Great vice and a reasonable price.
Overall happy with the vice. One small blemish I noticed is that the edges near the retaining pin are a bit rough and caught my pic rail when removing from the vice. Nothing I can’t fix with a dremel.

If you are working on a BCA AR you will need this because a reaction rod won’t work in a BCA upper receiver.

Ordered the AR upper/pic rail vise block and installed it on my AR10 just to see how it would fit. Seems to work great, it holds the upper nice and solid. Can’t wait to use it on my next build.

works great
This vise block works awesome. Fits great in my bench vise and holds an ar upper perfect. I used it to hold my upper while changing a handguard and it didnt budge.

Don't install another AR-15 barrel without it!
I wanted to swap out the barrel of a BCA buffer less 9mm upper, which was torqued down HARD. It would not fit in my old AR-15 vise block, because the upper is thicker than standard AR. This device uses the receiver's takedown lugs for indexing / securing the receiver. So it doesn't matter how the upper is shaped / sized, as long as the surface that mates with the lower is mil-spec. Using this fixture, the Wheeler 30 mm crows foot barrel nut wrench, and a 1/2" drive torque wrench, I had the old barrel removed literally five minutes after UPS dropped off the package.
