A pin removal punch block that is designed without through holes on the other sides can’t be effective. Anyone that’s ever dealt with stubborn front sight taper pins could see the benefit a block that would perfectly align punches and be an “extra hand” for breaking the pin loose would be invaluable. This is a poor design and seriously missed the boat on the opportunity it had to fill a niche. The large starter punch is too large to go into the holes (which is generally where you need the most help in this application) and even if it would the other side of the block has no holes for the pins to be punched out through. The hole is also too large to “center” the finishing punch that drives the pin all the way through after the start. So in essence you’re trying to punch the pins out into a solid block on the back side. I’m very disappointed. This is the first wheeler product I’ve ever been disappointed with. Hopefully they will re-design it effectively.

If you need it buy it! This product will prevent you from damaging your new barrel. The clamping surface is great and the overall quality is perfect. I recommend ordering a roll pin punch along with this kit so you have everything you need to remove and install if you are working on more than one fire arm.
