Wilson Combat Ambidextrous Thumb Safety, Tactical Lever
Top quality product for a well below market price. I have been looking for this all over the web and I find it here much cheaper than everywhere else. Can’t find these major brands and manufacturers and these prices at this cost.
It functions for the most part. I spent a couple hour just filling away at this thing to make it work. I knew there I would be some filing involved but I had to file down almost everything on this safety to make it fit. The 2 half’s didn’t fit together and neither side fit in the hole on the pistol....

If your like me, not a gunsmith, and think this will be as easy to install like glock compnents that need minor fitment adjustments, pay to have a gunsmith to it. I messed it up. Maybe its just because I tried to put it in a kimber, but now ill have to buy another one and pay to have it installed.

The ambi safety on my S&W 1911PD held up for 15 years before breaking while shooting at the range. It's been my duty pistol since new and has had thousands of rounds fired through it with ZERO problems until a couple of weeks ago. I ordered this Wilson Combat replacement due to their reputation, quality, and personal experience with their products. Reading some reviews on it said that it required some minor fitting. With so many versions of the 1911 being produced, it's no wonder that it isn't a complete drop-in piece. Once I began installing it, I understood why. I needed to lightly sand the axle a little for proper fit and smooth operation. It also did not fit up into the sear and I had to file it to allow it to engage the safety. Once that was accomplished, the safety works perfectly, feels solid, and should easily last the rest of my career and then some. My biggest complaint is the shipper used by Optics Planet (DHL). They are slow and don't have very thorough tracking information.
Pros:
High quality
Cons:
Will require gun smithing to work
