Danger's Review of Wilson Combat WCP365 XL Grip Module

Was looking for an "XL" sized grip module for my regular P365. I liked the look and ideas behind the Wilson Combat WCP365 XL grip: the beaver tail, texture that goes all the way up to the slide, beveled magwell, option for tungsten weights. In practice however those characteristics didn't manifest in any noticeable benefits. I tried various configurations from 7 yards, 5 shots each in 5 seconds. First tried the WCP365 XL with the tungsten weights, then the WCP365 without the weights, then the standard P365X grip module followed by the same in reverse order. My best group was a 1.83" minus a flyer with the regular P365X grip and my worst was a 4.40" minus a flyer with the WCP365 without the tungsten weights. My averages were 4.01" with the WCP365 and weights, 3.73" with the WCP365, and 2.695" with the regular P365X frame. The tungsten weights themselves sit loose in the frame and is recommended by Wilson Combat to be dabbed in grease so they don't rattle. Perhaps rattling around is part of the reason for the group sizes I'm seeing out if the WCP365/Weights combo. The grip itself also didn't particularly sit well in my hand. The WCP365 is more "oval" than the standard P365 grips "squarishness". You'd think a rounder shape would be helpful but the extra length hits wrong where my fingers bend around it. Combine that with the grip texture on the sides having a very "high and low" type texture it felt like i wasn't making as much contact with the frame as the standard P365 frame. If the sides were the same texture as the front and back i think I'd be able to hold onto it better but as it is it looks like all this texture is there, I just can't get to it. Also something to note was at some point during this process it stopped holding the slide open on the last round. Never had issues with slide lock before so switched back to the P365X frame and the issue still presented itself. Not attributing that directly the WCP365 but just wanted to mention it. Overall the WCP365 wasn't for me, you may have better luck, but I'll keep looking for more options. Hoping that Sig releases their AXG grip as a standalone product.
Pros:
  • Great front and rear grip texture
  • Holster commonality with standard P365
Cons:
  • Didn't fit my hands well
  • Side texture wasn't productive
Best Used for:
  • concealed carry
