Rail is great but a pain to install - XS Sight Systems Lever Rail Marlin Model 336 Ghost Ring Mount

It appears that XS thinks close is good enough for a new Marlin 1894. Almost every part needs to be filed to fit. The holes didn't line up on the rail and the screws for the front sight are too long. Yes, I removed all the locktite first and they were still too long. Expect to spend some time filing. I didn't like the line on the front sight. Peeps should have a bead up front. I had some spare Williams front fire sights. The tallest one I had is .405N and still shoots a bit high with the ghost ring all the way down. I'll need to get the next size taller Williams front sight. The two provided ghost rings are too large for me beyond 25 yards. Accuracy suffers. I'll have to get the smaller ring straight from XS. I didn't see it on Opticsplanet. Would I buy it again? Yes, even with all the tweaking it's the best rail sight option out there at the moment.
