The manufacturer doesn't state if the XS Sight Systems Lever Rail Ghost Ring WS for Marlin will fit a Marlin 336. However, I have also read that Marlin 336 bases will fit a Glenfield 30A. My suggestion would be to by the mount and sights separate so you can get the correct front sight. Or I recommend contacting the manufacturer in regards to a specific model that will fit your gun and has a dovetail front sight.
The XS Sight Systems Lever Rail Ghost Ring WS for Marlin model 308MX should be compatible with the Marlin 338MX, however, I would contact the manufacturer to confirm.
The sight required fitting before it would work.
Front sight screws had to be shortened to allow the threads to tighten.
File will be needed to remove material from dovetail to fit in barrel.
The finished product is nice.

I see a lot of reviews about this not lining up right, but if you have one of the newer marlin model 336 (remlin) this is going to fit awesome mine has the barrel band and every hole lined up perfectly.
