The product description was for a mossberg 464, but pictures were for a win 94. Took a gamble on it for my mossberg and got burned. The product ended up being for a winchester 94 rifle

Not sure what Marlin 336 XS Scout mount I bought was for, but it did not fit mine. Thought it needed a little fitting, but I was wrong. Front mount to rear mounting holes were not level. If mounted, it would have a rise to the front. It was way out of spec for my rifle.

Mounting was easy although the included screws strip easily. I’ve used this to mount a Leupold VX-R IER in 1.5-5x33 using low Leupold QRW2 rings on my Ruger Scout rifle and it works great for that purpose. My only real criticism is the ghost ring doesn’t have any kind of protection but due to close proximity to my scopes eyepiece damage seems unlikely.

This is a great scout scope mount for a Marlin 336. Solid mount and easy installation. This mount utilizes the rear sight dovetail cut on the barrel so the rear factory sight needs to be removed in order to install this scout mount. I will purchase another one of these scout mounts for my son's rifle.

I purchased the scope mount hoping that it would fit as a drop on component. It did not fit! The forward pillar mounting hole was cut too far forward and prevented correct alignment with the dovetail mounting pillar. I had read another customers review and he was able to use a file and remove enough material to ensure proper fitment on the rifle. I tried that and now I have a very expensive piece of scrap aluminum!
I intend to contact XS Sight Systems to see if they have a configuration management difference between their products and Marlin. If I can get a mount that fits, I'll purchase another.
Federal Express did not deliver as advertised either. Their website stated that the package would be delivered on a Friday and it did not arrive until the following Monday. I live in Southern California where porch pirates are stealing us blind and knowing when a package will arrive helps prevent that. Thank you!

Watch install video online to understand this product will require fitting. Process is easy, but not quick install sitting in truck with screwdriver easy. Did not come with non marring punch as pictured and described.

THis rail is so sweet for my Marlin 1895, allowing me to mount any optic for longer range shots, and it doesn't get in the way of my Ghost Ring iron sight set up neither. I bought a QD attachment for a Red dot that I can easily and quickly attach the Red Dot if I need to make a long shot. This set up looks fantastic too!
