Definitely ALL SS
Catch is the mil-spec 2-piece style, but in stainless, button is also stainless(in reference to previous review) and had the knurled design as pictured, closed-ended. Must be decent grade too as pieces pass the magnet test.

Not all stainless
The button is not stainless, only the catch is. Visually looks similar to stainless, which is fine for most scenarios. However, if you’re planning on a PVD finish, go with a different brand, as aluminum can’t be PVD coated. If I knew sooner, I’d have returned it as they’re being dishonest about the ...

Looks sweet!
The finish of this is bright and smooth. Totally worth 15 bones...the SS contrasts nicely with the black anodized lower. I highly recommend if you need some jewelry for you AR...

Stainless it is
Not much available in shiny stainless but this fit the build nicely! As other reviews have stated, the threaded bar is too long for the depth of button, so if you aren't inclined to "fit" to your rifle may not be for you. I shortened very carefully as not to heat or over take stock, and it fits my lower great!Awesome price!
Pros:
- Shiny stainless
Cons:
- Little effort to fit
Best Used for:
- Bling builds

Not a good product
The threads on the button were not deep enough. Didnt allow mag catch to seat deep enough in the reciever. Shaft was slightly bent and threads were wonky. I tried it in another reciever with a regular button and it worked, sort of.

great upgrade
the magazine drop button has a great texture. it sits at a great height. It weighs in at 11 grams for those cutting weight. this is a fantastic upgrade for $13. I would compare it to the vseven mag catch, which is $40

Stainless Steel Mag Catch Assembly
Bought this for my daughter's build. She wanted to accent her SS barrel and black receivers. Very nicely finished, no burrs or sharp edges. Matches well with the extended take-down and pivot pins, the anti-walk pins and the nickel-boron bolt catch. The fit was perfect and it went together with no issues. Smooth operation. Once installed, it seems as though this is a slightly extended button? This is not a problem, and probably even preferred, but the description did not state that this was an extended control. The only reason that I did not give this 5 stars is that after 2-1/2 months, I am still waiting for my upper that was "expected" to ship in 4 weeks! The expected ship date seems to be pushed further out every couple of weeks? Until I can finish the build and actually test fire the rifle, I can only award 4 stars.
Pros:
- Nice fit and finish, easy installation, very reasonable price, matches other SS controls well.
Cons:
- None, but unable to test fire yet.
Best Used for:
- A magazine catch! Nice accent to a black receiver. Not vey good for a "subdued " build.
