First off the slide back plate I received was polymer not aluminum. Don’t care. I only bought this kit because I was partially concerned about the slide not working as I was using a Zaffiri slide on a P80 frame I built (which previously worked flawlessly with a factory G34 upper), a Ghost INC trigger, and a Silencerco barrel. So I wanted to rule out Zaffiri saying any issues were the upper parts. Initially the slide would not return to battery after shooting, after 6 mags this issue went away and now it’s just doing what it should. From delivery to assembled slide way maybe 20 minutes. If you know how to take apart a Glock you know how to assemble this slide. If you believe you need the special tool to install the channel liner, then you probably do. I didn’t.

Optics Planet offered free value shipping. It took 5 days from the date of purchase to delivery to Independence, MO. Once I installed the trigger bar safety I tried to put in the ejector and it was so tight I couldn’t get it half way. So I went to my parts box and I had another one that fit perfectly. Also the finish on the Zaffiri Precision ejector was ugly and it just looked off. I installed all other parts without issues, except when I had to disassemble it again to check something. When I removed the striker assembly the striker sleeve came right out. So I reinstalled it thinking I didn’t seat it far enough? Nope came right back out. It’s not that big of an issue until it becomes one. Let’s see if it starts to drag and produce light strikes inside the channel. I’ve had other issues with Zaffiri Precision barrels in the past. I would have gone OEM but the cheapest I could find a kit for is $100 on eBay. Shouldn’t have tried to be a cheap skate and save $30 I probably wouldn’t have run into this issue. I would not recommend this product, maybe just the striker assembly. Just go with OEM or pay a little more from another company. The captured plastic recoil assembly should have been stainless steel for the price point honestly. Also the spring that’s captured onto the guide rod is very, very heavy. Seems to be more than 18 lbs? Hopefully it will break in and get better.
