Zeiss rings are great

I have two sets of these rings. They are lightweight yet durable and reliable. The hardware is low profile; which means less to snag on in cases or on your pack. This includes the anti-cant indicator which is integrated into the ring in a way that makes it easy to see with the offside eye.
Pros:

  • anti-cant indicator
Cons:
  • The anti-cant takes some time and patience to get set properly

  • Hunting Rifles

Avoid use with higher recoiling/lightweight rifles

My rifle weighs 5.5 pounds and is chambered in 7mm PRC, and has a muzzle break. Recoil energy should be 25 foot pounds, but is likely less since I have a muzzle break. Scope continues to walk forward even though I have increased (incrementally) the inch pounds on the mounting screws. Started at 18 per Zeiss manual. Talked to customer service and they said go to 20–didn’t help. Talked to nightforce, and they said go to 25 and that will be fine with my scope—still didn’t help. Not sure if the rings are defective? I don’t want to go higher than 25 inch pounds.
Pros:
  • Light weight and good finish.
Cons:
  • Cannot handle recoil in lighter guns with high recoil
  • Cannot handle recoil in lighter guns with higher recoil
Best Used for:
  • smaller calibers

Bubble Level is a tad on the small side

I bought these ring mounts for 3 reasons. 1 - the finish is great with all sharp edges removed so no marring of an expensive optic. 2 - highest quality metal. 3 - the smaller bubble level seems like it won’t get in the way and will likely be less prone to damage in hunting scenarios. That said, the bubble should be a tad larger. Too much head movement needed from shooting position to confirm level.
Pros:
  • Quality as expected
Cons:
  • Bubble is a tad too small and I wish it stuck out just a little further
  • be careful that your torques are correct. Sportsman warehouse installed with too little torque and the scope rode forward on the rifle incrementally from recoil until it made contact with the ring mount. This may not have happened if I had bought wider ri
Best Used for:
  • Hunting - rings are low profile and add less weight than larger rings.

This is my second set of Zeiss rings! What better to pair a zeiss scope with a set of Zeiss rings? I love the low profile design with the built in level. Also quality is very good. The rings also come in a small hard case with the correct bits to install them!
