Most Helpful Positive Review Zeiss Terra Binos
These are literally the best buy in binoculars right now. The clarity and quality of these binos is very close to that of similar units costing 5 times as much, and far exceeds that of comparably priced units. They are very well made, easy to focus and use, and as someone who wear glasses and sungla...

Most Helpful Negative Review Zeiss Terra 10X42
The concern amongst some reviewers about Chinese production of these binoculars is evidently valid. My pair arrived with a several-millimeter hair or piece of industrial debris inside one of the tubes. Also, the eyecups only twisted into two and not four positions as advertised. Zeiss should be a...

Great product!

by Baseballandhunting, from SD, United States Written on December 22, 2017
By far the best binoculars I have ever owned! These things are crystal clear and no one can match Zeiss quality in low light conditions! You do not have to pay a fortune for a pair of amazing bunoculars! I highly recommend these to hunters of all skill levels.

Great Binos for Hunting

by DAB, from TX, United States Written on November 8, 2016
I used the Zeus Terra ED binos for the first time in the field on opening day of deer season. It was rainy, foggy, and pretty nasty overall as far as the weather goes. These binoculars worked great through it all. Very clear, crisp view in all conditions, and seem like they will hold up well in the elements with the rubberized coating they have. The one thing that should be changed are the front lens caps. Instead of fitting over the lenses, they fit inside. I can't get them to stay in when not in use. Bad design, I think. The rear lens caps are more traditional and fit over the lenses.
Overall, I like them, they work great, and I'll find a solution for the front lenses to keep them protected.

Awesome Opitcs

by Greg, from CA, United States Written on October 31, 2016
Best value on the market. Nicely packaged and quality feel. Optics stand up to any out there in my opinion. Elk hunting with buddies who had $2,000+ bino's and were not seeing what I was. Would recommend to anyone who wants a great quality bino for the best price.

Optics -Wow; Mechanics -Eh; Acessories -Where's the case?

by Combat Hamster, from TX, United States Written on October 8, 2016
Looking through the Terra ED 10x42 is what I expect from Zeiss optics; wow. Briefly, the objects within the field of view in full light -"PoP"-. I'm left thinking wow the small tree bud 100 yds away really is deep purple this fall. Especially after I look through the same with standard binoculars. There is a minimum diffraction around the edges, which when compared to other binoculars is maybe a percent of the field of view while the others are a gradual blur with the center being the least affected. In low light I can see objects are a dark fuzzy when view with other optics. I noticed the Terra claim ED optics and I can only wonder how this compares to ED & HD Zeiss optical systems? Something to consider in my next purchase. The Mechanics are ok/good, but I have felt better. In addition, I was disappointed in the bottom rubber optical cover simply unable to stay attached to the binocular. I warped a few layers of electrical tape around the rubber edge covers which now give them a nice fit and hold them in place. So its a simple fix but this could be better out of the box. Accessory wise my purchase came with a nice strap and lens cloth; however, the case is a felt bag. I was disappointed to not see a case. Toward that point there is a low cost Condor Binocular Pouch recommended. So I will purchase this accessory but I would have liked for it to come with the binoculars. That said its the entry level Zeiss binocular, I understand the optics are from Zeiss bu...

Zeiss 10/42 binoculars

by poppy, from CO, United States Written on May 14, 2016
I have been using a pair of Steiner binos but these Zeiss glasses are far superior. The clarity and resolution are magnificent. For a 10/42, they are the brightest of any binos I have seen. I am very impressed.

Zeiss Terra ED 10 x 42 binoculars, a great buy at any price being offered today!

by Bo, from TX, United States Written on January 10, 2016
Zeiss 10x42 ED binoculars are about as good a bargain as you will possibly find today when you consider all the standard features they contain such as the lifetime warranty they have and all the other features they offer. Especially when you take into consideration the Zeiss name and reputation plus the fact that they use the great Schott glass for the lenses and are waterproof, fully multi-coated lenses, etc., etc., What else needs to be said?

Zeiss Terra ED 10x42

by jcbikes, from CO, United States Written on December 21, 2015
Arrived within a few weeks, at a very good price (with discounts). Seems like a good binocular for the price paid. Glass is clear and controls function without problems. Haven't used long term yet, but seems like a good pair of binoculars without breaking the bank. Zeiss has a good reputation, but these were made in Asia (I think), so time will tell.

These Zeiss Terra binoculars compete with a pair of Leica binoculars I have that cost five times as much. Great value and seem well made. The lifetime Zeiss warranty a a big plus too.
I believe one could buy these binoculars and be set for a lifetime of quality use.

Best Binocular in this price range, hands down.

by Ted, from FL, United States Written on July 26, 2014
The Terra ED is a great piece of optical equipment, particularly at the given price point of $350-450. True, this model is assembled in China, but it is done so under strict supervision by Zeiss and to their exacting standards. The prism and glass are all of German manufacture and have the multi-layer Zeiss coating. Focus is rapid and affords fast acquisition of your visual target. Considering the price, the Zeiss reputation for quality and not to mention the Zeiss warranty, the purchase was a slam dunk for me. I've had my Terra ED 10x42 now for 8 months, no problems and high satisfaction. Many dealers have trouble keeping these in stock. I don't think it is truly necessary at this point in time to spend $1000+ to get a quality binocular. This said, there are certainly other fine units out there as well; I still love my Steiners, but I paid a lot more than $350 for them and really can't say the optical quality is much better. Field &Stream voted these the best binocular for 2013. Get a pair of these in your hand prior to buying and I'm sure you will agree.
Pros:
  • Price
  • QUALITY OPTIC
  • German glass
Cons:
  • New model, ? long term data
Best Used for:
  • hunting
  • surveillence
