Not a field test, just an opinion...
Just received the Zero Tolerance/Emerson 0620 collaboration, the version with the G10 grip.
Pros:
- Craftsmanship and construction are top notch. Great finished product. Smooth rounded edges.
- Good solid feel in the hand. Nice weight to the knife. Not too heavy for EDC.
- Blade action is smooth.
- Nice balance to the knife with the blade deployed. Index finger notch is comfortable and deep to prevent your hand from sliding up to the blade.
- Overall the knife is surprisingly thin for how thick the blade is. Guess that's a benefit of the frame lock. It is thinner than my Emerson CQC-7V ...

ZT 0620CF with CTS 204P blade steel
I love this blade shape. The grind is beautiful and very sharp right out of the box.
After using this knife for a couple of days it will deploy easily using the thumb disk with wrist flip.
The "wave" opening feature also works well out of the pocket if you choose to use it.
With a blade length of 3.6" it is not a small knife but I carry it every day comfortably.

ZT 0620CF with CTS-204P
This is very well made knife. Fit & finish are top notch. The blade stop rotates so you don't need to worry about wearing it down. The handle feels great in hand. The blade rotates very smoothly on the robust pivot. I did drop mine on vinyl tile waving it out of pocket which took a chip out of the tip. The blade is ground thin at the edge and tip, so keep that in mind. A 2ft drop on a hard surface will chip the blade.
Pros:
- Ergonomics
- pivot
- smoothness
- Fit & finish
- thumb disc & wave feature
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Collecting
- Self-Defense

Emerson and ZT...
What more needs to be said? When I was a young man, I got my first CQC-7. Still have it. Its a great knife, and has stood the test of time. It lived through three deployments to the Middle East and another to Northern Africa. But as tough as it is, it has always lacked in the fit and finish department.
A few years ago, I was introduced to Zero Tolerance knives. I've always been a fan of Kershaw, and their hard use cousin was an instant hit for me. So when I learned ZT was making a collaboration knife with Ernest Emerson, I was excited to say the least. I opted for the higher end model, favoring both the carbon fiber handle scale as well as the M390 blade steel. It arrived everything I've ever dreamed of. Amazing grind, and all the fit and finish you would expect from ZT. Light enough to carry every day, yet big enough for any task.
