This is the first time I have been disappointed with an item purchased through Optics Planet. The product came packaged in a plastic sleeve and fitted foam plugs fit on each end to prevent damage to the handguard. The tube has caps on each end to prevent everything from coming loose. The tape securing the end caps had been cut and was not checked before shipping in a plastic bag. Everything came loose and the end of the rail that fits to the receiver was damaged. I was also not pleased with the finish. It appeared to be a very rough painted finish rather than a smooth type 3 anodized finish. The ZEV handguard is a rather high end product, and most I have seen are $80-100 cheaper, so I expected a betterI finishhave purchased items from Optics Planet for a number of years and will continue to do so, but was not happy this time. I did order another handguard—a Geissele Super Modular Federal which was only about $25 more.

I had a Mega billet stripped receiver set for years. I finally got around to building a gun. The handguard I had wouldn't fit the billet receiver so I found that ZEV had one that would. This was my first experiance with the Zev handguard, wow. Everything about it was top shelf, the design, the lightness, the finish, the anti-rotation index pin. The wedge lock mechanism is very stout. Once adjusted it's not going to move ever.

I needed a long, rigid handguard for a 20" rifle build. After comparing various options, I settled on the Zev 16.6" wedge lock handguard and am extremely happy with it. There are only two improvements I'd suggest: incorporate a steel QD stud like on Triarc wedge lock rails, and make it out of 7075 aluminum instead of 6061 for even more rigidity. Overall, I'm definitely happy with this handguard and highly recommend it.

I am a Zev fanboy. I have every attachment that Zev sells and have put it on a variety of different Glocks. When I saw Zev started selling completed rifles and rifle products? Ooooo I was excited. I have an F1 Firearms upper/lower and thought this handgaurd would be a good addition to the build - and I was right! This thing is sick. Reminds me of the Zev Dragonfly handgun slide, it’s “ported” and can see the barrel really well through the windows so if you’re trying to show off your barrel this is a great hand guard. I’m regards to how slim it is, I am 6’1” with medium to big hands, and I can fully wrap my hand around the hand guard and while wrapping my hand around it, I can touch all my fingers with my thumb besides my pinky. Installation took 20ish minutes, really quick and simple. Highly recommend.

I wish i was able to use this on my 6.5 grendel build but the BSF barrel and Bleedoff gasblock i am using was a little too big to fit under it. The package that the handguard was shipped in did not contain a barrel nut wrench. I saw someone else mention this fact but i thought that it was just a lemon. turns out it is true.

This is the first Zev product I have purchased but I can say it wont be the last. Fit and finish are perfect,the wedge system had me hesitant at first but it is extreamly solid. The wrench you get for the install most company's seem to use a soft aluminum one that holds up for a 1 time use, not Zev the wrench is made to do some work.All in all I will be buying from Zev again.

The quality is great, and the finish is nice. The 12.625 is the perfect length i need for a free float handguard with a front a2 sight in the rifle position. It was suppose to come with a barrel wrench, however it was no where to be found in the packaging.

It's expensive but you get what you pay for and this is a "high end" hand guard. Several of my coworkers bought this one for .300 blackout pistol builds and it works nicely with a 9" barrel. They're also offering a rebate deal through 05/18/18 for a free upper with the purchase of this.

Best rail I have ever used! The finish is the selling point along with the wedge lock design. Zev technologies stands behind the products that they make.. from past experience they ran into a malfunction with my Glock 19.. long story short I got a brand new gun now a “fix” for the issue.
