What applications are the MOA 4 vs. MOA 8 meant for? Expert Answer

Smaller MOA dots allow for increased accuracy due to the smaller footprint that the dot displays on the target as larger dots will cover more and more of your target at range. However, larger dots are easier to acquire and quicker to put rounds down range. Selecting your dot comes down to personal preference and your specific needs.

Product Info for Shield Sights RMSc Compact 1x 8 MOA Reflex Mini Red Dot Sight

The RMSc version of the extremely popular RMS is a slimmed-down model of the RMS designed to fit on single stack pistols like concealed carry handguns such as the Glock43, Smith & Wesson Shield, and 1911. These Red Dot Sights are parallax-free, clear polymer optics that can withstand up to ten times greater shock impact than sights using glass optics. Unlike many competing products, the Shield Sights RMS is designed without a red reflective filter on the lens to ensure a minimal visual signature. The sight body is made from aerospace-grade aluminum and has an anodized matte black finish. Variable intensity drive circuit that senses target light levels and controls LED output giving optimum visibility of the dot against the target. These are available in different dot sizes tailored to your application. The RMS fits all mounts readily available for the SMS, and it is available with an optional battery draw that allows you to change the battery without having to unmount the sight.image
