An AK handguard is the portion forward of the receiver/action that shrouds the barrel and gas tube. How long is an AK handguard?
Generally speaking, an AK handguard ranges from 10.5 inches to 13.5 inches. The length will mostly affect how far it covers between the front of the gas block out to the front of the front sight. This can vary a bit depending on barrel lengths, of course.
Will AK74 handguard fit AK47?
Without any modification, an AK 47 handguard won't fit an AK74 and vice versa. However, an AKM (AK Modernized) and AK74 handguards are interchangeable, although it may take some filing and sanding to get a good fit. The best bet is to buy a handguard that matches your AK model to get the best fit and functionality.
