This device is made to distract from the single sided blast heard at longer ranges. Due to the single sided blast, many people prefer the look of a can. Not only do the see through ports add another dimension to your gun, but the look of one solid piece adds another dimension to the sound. The Fake Can simulates the traditional can look by using a shorter, fatter end cap that has a tapered end. Once the end cap is installed, the device can be used with either a traditional can or a vented suppressor head. Using the 1/2x28 thread adapter allows the shooter to use a 1x thread based buffer on their carbine. There are two gas ports in the Fake Can, top and bottom. The bottom port has a laser etched "gas port" with various degrees of choke can be used. Once the gas in the fake can is exhausted, the forward port will fill with air and the fake can will sound like a standard can. The Fake Can is typically used on carbines and rife's to reduce sound but it can be used on all sorts of guns as long as the barrel is venting. The Fake Can should be installed by an experienced armorer to properly install.
