Will the osprey piston conversion work with an adjustable gas block or will I need a new one?

Yes, an adjustable gas block should operate fine with the kit.

is the handguard that comes with the kit, do I need it or can I use my own Aero free floating or does the piston not have enough clearance ?

Yes, but be sure to use the “Enhanced” handguard— which interfaces with BAR barrel nut. Do not use with the Atlas or Quantum handguards.
