This is black polymer and the only way to refinish it would be to coat the entire thing in whatever finish you are trying to finish it in. We cannot guarantee it will properly finish as this is not a metal upper and is predominantly made of polymer.

This is a polymer AR15 upper receiver and is technically compatible with any standard AR-15 lower receiver and any standard AR-15 parts. Please be aware that tight fitment cannot be guaranteed as this is polymer and is not mated to whatever lower you are going to mount it too.
