If your barrel is marked .308, you are good to go on 7.62x51 ammo as well.

Yes. The 18" .308 barrel included in this Aero Precision M5 18in .308 CMV Complete Upper Receiver is HP and MPI inspected with M4 feed ramps, and made from 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium.

This muzzle device is not permanently attached and can be removed with an armorers wrench.

is this designed to mount to an ar-15 or an ar-10 lower. i have not seen any where that says which lower it was designed for.

The Aero Precision M5 firearms are all large frame AR-10 style receivers. The .308 caliber chambering is only offered out of the AR-10 platform.
