Yes. The Aero Precision M5E1 18in 6.5 Creedmoor Complete Upper Receiver will fit on DPMS pattern 308 lower receivers.

We build our 308 M5 platform to the AR308 pattern, with a DPMS High Profile (.210) Tang rail and 1-7/16 x 16 TPI. Please note that our .308 products are machined to AR .308 specs, which is similar but not the same as DPMS Gen 1. Unfortunately, because there is no set standard, we are unable to guarantee compatibility with any other manufacturer’s products within this platform.

can this receiver be matched with an 80% lower? not withstanding the handgaurd length or access, could the DI system be replaced with a gas piston?

This upper can be used with an 80% lower. This will not be compatible with a piston system.

The M5E1 is the "Enhanced" version and it has a proprietary handguard and barrel nut.

This page has Quad, Keymod, MLOK options on the page. The MPN's ending in "Q44" are quad, "P44" are keymod, and "M44" are MLOK.
