Hi,
The IR mounts on the center rail. Please note, if the IR is mounted, you cannot mount the unit onto a headgear. The IR must be removed in order to mount the unit to your headgear.
The housing and mount of these ATN NVGs (night vision goggles) are made in Russia. The electronics inside are made by ATN. This Russian made NVG mounting system will NOT marry up to an American made helmet mounting system, specifically with any mounting system made by Wilcox industries in the United States. NOTE. The Wilcox G24 helmet mounting system is standard equipment used by the US Military to attach NVGs to the shroud of US military special forces helmets.
The only way to get these ATN NVGs to attach to standard issue Wilcox G24 helmet mount, is: 1) Remove current Russian made mount from housing of these NVGs. 2) Have a machine shop drill and tap four screw holes into top of ATN. 3) Attach an accessory Wilcox mount, with screws and epoxy to the ATN housing. Now and only now can these ATN NVGs (night vision goggles), be attached to the standard military issue, Wilcox G24 helmet mounting system.
This information was provided to me by a man who has been selling high quality NVGs to the US Military and police SWAT for the last 25 years. He made the decision NOT to carry ATN NVGs for this reason.
These are green phosphor.
Per ATN specs on the PS14-4, the FOM Rating is 2000 Typical.
I am not sure what this question is in reference to as auto-gated is just a feature of the night vision and does not have "levels". Please email us at techsales@opticsplanet.com if you would like to clarify your question as ATN does not make any mention of autogated levels.
You need to use an IR laser ONLY. We do not recommend using visible lasers with night vision.
Yes, these units are direct from ATN and we are authorized dealers of their products.
What ATN refers to as "Gen 4" is actually the Filmless, Autogated Gen 3 Pinnacle tube, it's the highest possible quality of night vision technology.
ATN makes a camera/camcorder adapter that can be used with a 35mm lens camera or camcorder, however it would be hard to wear the goggles while the external device is attached. It can be found here:
