I bought a droptine 3-40 mm rim Fire I didn’t notice the rimfire I told the sales man at sportsmens that I wanted it for my 243 can I use it for that

The Burris Droptine 3x40 mm Rifle Scope .22LR model may hold up on a .243 Win rifle. However, the BDC reticle will not be accurate. I recommend using the non rimfire model with that rifle.

Description indicates scope is shockproof. Previous answer indicates I need to buy FULLFIELD if I’m worried about long term effect of recoil, why?

The Burris Fullfield line of scopes are designed to be more durable and be used with a large arrangement of different rifles/calibers. However, the Ballistic Plex Model (MPN:200017) is durable enough to withstand shock and vibrations of even the heaviest-recoiling calibers.

Will this work on a 12ga????? I’m shooting 385gr Remington accutips. I’m tired of replacing scopes that claim they can handle heavy recoil.

Yes it would be just fine, but if you are concerned with heavy recoil, you could look for something in their Burris Fullfeld line.
