I had the same question, so I contacted someone from HeraUSA. They told me that the gen2 will be “completely different” but, was unable to provide any pictures. He said they would be available in late fall.
The HERA Arms CQR Front Grip GEN 2 will fit to any rifle/pistol with an underside picatinny rail on the handguard. So as long as you have a picatinny rail it will fit.
You would need a picatinny rail section that mounts to the MLOK handguard. Here's a code for one that would work with that foregrip.
Code:3JN-T8-APMLKR-103457-BLK
As long as you have the MLOK at the bottom hand rail and attach a picatinny rail of about 11 slot. Note that HERA states that this is an angled grip, the ATF might have a different view.
HERA claims it as an angled foregrip. But the ATF can overall reclassify an accessory even if the company claims it. Though in ATF terms a vertical grip is 90 degrees from the bore and this is not.
Pic rail is required. This would qualify as a forward grip and would make your pistol an SBR.
The HERA Arms CQR Front Grip GEN 2 is 7.5" in length. A minimum of 9 slots is needed to mount this grip.
The HERA Arms CQR Front Grip GEN 2 mounts to picatinny rail. If you have a available picatinny rail section on the handguard of that rifle the HERA Arms CQR Front Grip GEN 2 will work.
I think it counts as a vertical grip, thus making a pistol into a sbr
I would recommend using an 11-slot Magpul MOE Picatinny Rail Section (linked below) which is approx 4.588" in length.
