will this fit my DPMS LR-308?

No, it will not because this is a handguard meant specifically for AR-15 firearms and will not work on the larger frame AR-10/LR-308 platforms. Leapers does not offer a standard drop-in handguard for a carbine length DPMS LR-308. If you email us at techsales@opticsplanet.com with more information regarding the exact set up of your LR-308 we can confirm some other options.

My current hand guard is approximately 6.25" long. It states here this hand guard is 7.28" long. So then this one will not fit my carbine then, right

The UTG Pro AR15 Carbine Length Drop-in Quad Rail with Extension fits any AR15 pattern rifle that features a carbine length gas system, delta ring, and fixed front sight/railed gas block with a handguard cap. This handguard features an extended top rail that goes over the delta ring. That is why the overall length is 7.28". As long as your rifle uses a delta ring, carbine gas system with fixed sight/gas block with a handguard cap then this handguard is compatible.

The manufacturer states that the overall length of the UTG Pro AR15 Carbine Length Drop-in Quad Rail with Extension is 7.28". The top and bottom rail extension adds 4 extra picatinny mounting slots.

This handguard is a quad rail with picatinny rails on all four sides. This handguard is NOT compatible with M-lok accessories. It will only be compatible with accessories like QD sling mounts that attach to a picatinny rail. Here is a Leapers option that will mount to this handguard:
