No, this barrel is for the revised P229 (P229-1) & will not work in the P228.

Sig Sauer does not offer a threaded barrel for the P229. Unfortunately, we do not have a third party barrel.

According to Sig the SIG SAUER Barrel, Threaded, 229-1, will work with the M11 A-1.

Will this barrel fit the P229 compact legion series 9mm?

Yes, it’s listed as 3.9 inches long. However, with the threaded end and cap it is 1/2 inch longer—approx 4.4. Look at sigs web site—for verification—it’s listed with the 229 parts, including the legion.

Sig Sauer branded barrels all use left handed threads. Aftermarket barrels may use different threading.
