The arm is metal I would say steel at pivot /picatinny mount then is probably aluminum coated with black finish and brace polymer opens like a hinge 2 parts so it would rotate some when used as a brace. When brace is closed together 2 parts are solid. It is very light. I took a adjustable brace off rattler for this. Sig is now using this on many of the mcx line.
