It would be a good scope ONLY if your daughters rifle requires a scout style scope that has a long eye relief. This scope is a scout scope that has a 10 inch eye relief meant to be mounted in the "scout" position on a rifle. This means that it is mounted forward of the action usually on the handguard/forend of a rifle and about 10 inches from the shooters eye.
Scout scopes have to be mounted within the listed eye relief to be able to use and see through them. The Marlin 336 can use a scout scope, but almost all of them should be drilled and tapped over the receiver. This allows the user to mount a scope over the receiver in the standard position. If you plan on mounting a scope in that position it can NOT be a scout scope because it will not be usable because of the eye relief.
The use of a scout-type mount would be required, which can present a challenge on the 91-pattern rifles. Overall, we would recommend the standard Crossfire-II 2-7x32 over the Scout for this application, and then simply mounting with a set of our medium-height Pro-Series 1" rings to the top rail on the receiver!
This optic does not ship with rings. We would recommend the Pro-Series 1" medium-height rings, PN# PR1-M.
We would not recommend the Crossfire-II Scout Scope, as the eye-relief is significantly longer than a standard optic. The Crossfire-II 2-7x32 (PN# CF2-31001R) would be a more appropriate fit!
This will depend entirely on what you're mounting it on - give us a shout at 1.800.4VORTEX and we can get it figured out!
The scout-scope would not be ideal, however, the standard 2-7x32 would be just great! Pair with a set of the medium-height Pro-series 1" rings, PN# PR1-M!
This could be used on a pistol like the Encore, but, the magnification will need to be kept around 2-4x at maximum for proper eye-relief.
It could, yes, but you'll likely find best results on 2-4x at maximum!
The Scout Scope may not be the most appropriate for this rifle, as it would require the barrel be drilled and tapped. A conventional optic, like the standard Crossfire-II, would be more appropriate, and can be done!
