Is battery power required for operation or just illumination?

The battery is only required for illumination. This optic has an etched reticle meaning the reticle will always be present with or without illumination.

The battery is installed in the top, largest compartment by unscrewing the illumination dial and the unit runs off of a single CR2032.

There should be no issue with this optic on a SCAR, but if you run into any issues Vortex has the best warranty and customer service in the industry.

No, prism scopes cannot be used with magnifiers because they both have an eye relief requirement and both have diopters.
