Most Helpful Positive Review Great product
I purchased this for grim to match the side folding stock for my 1300 defender shotgun for home defense. Perfect fit and feel. It feels good in your hands and performs perfectly. This was the best price I could find and shipping was fast
Most Helpful Negative Review Works, but feels flimsy
I ordered this forend to to go with the ATI stock (which I couldn't be happier with, excellent stock!) that I got for my Mossberg 590A1, it looks cool enough and the optional rails were a plus. However, the rails are on the sides only, the image shown on with a rail/sling mount on the bottom is inac...

fitment issue

by apdoway, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on August 7, 2024
I installed this on an older model “1970s-80s”mossberg 500a
I had to trim the insert 3/16” on the forward end to properly tighten the nut but besides that flawless fit and operates and looks great

Bad Fitament

by PhillyHillBilly, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on December 22, 2020
I liked the concept and ordered one for my Mossberg 500C. The installation is difficult. Finding the indications for the proper adapter is tough. Even tougher is getting the adapters to fit over the slide tube. Installing the nut back onto the slide tube is ner impossible between the fine threads and the overly snug fit of the adapter. The adapters are made with terrible quality control!!!
Unless you like aggravation and having to custom fit parts for a so-called Drop-in item GET SOMETHING ELSE
Pros:
  • Good Design Concept
Cons:
  • Quality Control Fitment Issues
  • fitting of the parts
Best Used for:
  • Dumpster fire

Find Another

I bought this to install on an older Mossberg 500 to gain a rail for a light. It’s heavier than the stock wood forend, and the longitudinal grooves don’t provide good grip. It was difficult to screw on the magazine cap due to poor tolerances. Suggest you find other options.

Made in USA like the Ford Pinto

by ClaymoreRoomba, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on February 8, 2020
Keep in mind, I have a Mossberg 590 so it may not apply to Remington, Winchester, etc. A product that makes made in the US mean nothing. The upper plastic rubs on the barrel and the "universal" adapters you have to use don't even fit over the slide tube without forcing them on and risking jacking your threads. Also, the way these are made is the jankiest s**t ever, having to cut out the cross supports with pliers like it's some China special. Another downside is that the "texturing" on the underside is very superficial and essentially gives no grip in wet or dusty conditions. Do yourself a favor and get a Magpul forend that is sized specifically for your shotgun, no universal fitment nastiness and has grip like a gorilla fist.
Pros:
  • Rails on both sides
Cons:
  • Poor grip, fitment, and quality.
Best Used for:
  • a paperweight

Not for the 870 dm

by Tony, from DE, United States Written on December 23, 2018
Purchased so i can mount a light to my 870 dm for work. First off the packaging doesn’t include which parts are for what shotgun. The forend also doesn’t work with the 870 dm. The angle at the bottom of the forend doesn’t allow for a round to be cycled. I contacted ATI and they said they have no solution or product for the DM. I had to make a 2”x .5” cut at the bottom to fit the mag well.
Pros:
  • Appearance
Cons:
  • Excessive installation steps
Best Used for:
  • Not a magazine fed pump shotgun

ATI forend

by Ian G, Verified Owner from DE, United States Written on March 19, 2018
Really light and generously priced. Don't think because it's cheap that it's garbage. Installation was a little tricky, I recommend using a strong snipping tool to remove the pieces you are supposed to discard by the instructions. This gives my Mossberg 500 better tactical options and saves on weight.

Still waiting

by Jordan, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on January 8, 2018
They can send me an email to review an item I ordered over a month ago, but I am still waiting to receive it. The item had “in stock” available. As for as the item, I can not say it is good or bad, but this was the first and last time I order from this website.

good but needs modifications

by Mark A, from MA, United States Written on April 3, 2017
This has a nice feel to it and the adapters for the mossberg 500 fit fine. No issues with rattling or loosening.

The forend would pinch the barrel when pulled toward the receiver. A little file work and it was fine.

The rails need a little fine tuning too. The corners closer to the receiver are square. If you are not careful with your foreword grip, this lower corners hurt after firing. Grind the corners down and no problem.

For $30, not a bad value. Better than the ATI.

Perfect... 10/10

by Frenchy, Verified Owner from PROVENCE-ALPES-CôTE D'AZUR, France Written on March 15, 2016
For an easy installation, just look inside the different adaptaters (front and rear) the little number and the letters to determinate the good one for your gun... You have to be patient and meticulous... You need more than 5 minutes to install it.. take it easy... (If you re not a handyman, choose a pro to make the job)...But the result is perfect...

Needs tweeking

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on March 29, 2012
Instructions didn't include how to identify which adapter to use on the Mossberg 500. Installed the short adapter first on front of tube and after getting gun re-assembled the forend was way too sloppy. Disassembled the gun and tried to install the long adapter and it was not the right diameter for the tube, had to do a lot of machining to get it to fit, but when finished it works well. WHEW! Hours of work!!
Pros: Once installed works well
Cons: Adapter needed altering
