an actual slick side upper
A lot of slick side uppers (cough cough KE) are actually made off of FWA blank uppers that simply never had the hole milled out for the FWA. Not this one. This one is a real slick side, which means it's smoother, more rounded, weighs less, and is better overall. So far I've bought 3 of these slick sides for different builds, and the quality is impeccable on every single one. I cannot recommend this part enough.

Upper Receiver
Great upper receiver for the AR-15 that I’m building, wanted to have a lighter AR-15, so I picked up also a bolt carrier from Optic Planet.

Great Reciever
I ordered this not sure what to expect. Reviews seemed good and I’ve heard Aero is a great company. The finish was clean. Looks great with no blemishes. Fits tight into the lower. I appreciate having to thermal fit barrel into the receiver as someone in the comments was complaining about it not fitting correctly. (Thermal fitting is the correct way) I was only left with one sour taste in my mouth. The upper did not come with the dust cover. There wasn’t one in the box either. Not sure if this was an oversight or not since this is listed as being “assembled”. This means I will have to get my own. Great upper overall and I would buy again.

The Perfect Upper
This is my go-to for upper builds. It's forged 7075 aluminum and as originally intended, it does not have a forward assist. The FA gets in the way of me charging the rifle as a left handed shooter, and as far as I am concerned, it's more likely to make a problem worse than actually fix one.

All Receivers are Aero Precision
I only use Aero Precision for my upper and lower receivers. Quality, there is nothing better. Price, there is nothing better. Sure there might be some cool looking billet receivers out there but they are twice the price. I'm always happy with my Aero Precision purchase

Works good and much lighter when you need to cut weight on build for wife's builded.

Simple and effective
I think I have bought at least 5 of these now for various builds and it's just really hard to beat them. I've splurged on fancy 2a uppers and could tell no practical difference. This is lightweight, affordable and does the job perfectly. I will continue to use them and unless you really want some gucci look, this is the ultimate value for upper builds.

Dust cover finish is cheap-o
It's an upper that is built to acceptable specs. The finish/coating on the upper seems to be good quality, but the dust cover finish scuffs and scratches very easily, like it was spray-painted with matte BBQ grill paint.

Everything You Want & Nothing You Don’t Need
This upper is nicely finished inside and out. Looks great. Functions fine. I have never understood what situation a forward assist was for - failure to chamber so you can shove it in anyway? No thanks! Very clear slot numbers on Picatinny rail. Lined up perfectly with handguard.
