I got the 14.7 inch pencil barrel upper. The barrel profile / length, and the M4E1 upper receiver with bolt assist are the main reasons I got this. Not a fan of the Atlas S-One handguard though. Funny thing, the handguard is where the quality control issue was. After opening the package I was inspecting the upper and noticed a rather large gap between the Picatinny rail on the upper receiver and the Picatinny rail on the handguard. I looked at the handguard attachment and noticed one of the taper lock nuts was slightly crooked and there was a tiny silver burr sticking out next to it. I tried removing the taper lock but the opposite taper lock nut was wedged up against the barrel nut. I had to use a punch and an armorers hammer to pop it out and remove the handguard. I noticed the barrel nut was scored and the tiny burr on the handguard had fallen off. I wiped everything down, and put the handguard back on. The taper lock went on straight so I think the burr caused the issue. Maybe the handguard was dinged right before assembly. I don't know but now I got a slightly dented taper lock nut and a small bare aluminum gouge mark were the burr was. Oh well, it is solid on the barrel nut and the alignment is now good. Before I was only thinking about swapping out the handguard, but now I am definitely going to change it. Maybe I'll go with the Atlas R-One (when they are back in stock) or something from Midwest Industries. Maybe I'll splurge and get a Geissele handguard.

Aero makes great AR parts and this upper is no different. I put this on an Aero lower with a Geissele trigger and used an acog for an optic and i was hitting out to 300yds without any issies. You can never go wrong with Aero!

Got this for a pretty good deal, came with a free AP MOE full lower parts kit for free, paid $562 out the door. But that’s not what makes this a 5 star product. Fit and finish are spectacular, it’s lightweight and has a comfortable ergonomic handguard. Mates up perfectly to my AP ar15 gen 2 lower(in kodiak brown) along with my AP buffer tube(also in kodiak brown) with a Magpul CTR stock. Besides it lookin bitchin, having an upper that is lightweight like this one makes moving around that much easier causing less fatigue especially during flat range exercises. And even though this upper setup is lightweight, by no means does it feel cheap or flimsy, it is solid and well built. I am absolutely stoked on this purchase : ]

I love Aeros uppers. Very well built. Cerakote looks great. Very hard to beat for the money. Once the current build is complete I’ll be building another but m5 next time. Definitely recommend and op is quick and easy like always.

Quit window shopping and just do it, the magpul green cerakote perfectly matches magpul green furniture

I’ve only put a few hundred rounds through it but it seems very solid and well built. It’s also extremely comfortable to hold and grip.

I paired this with an Aero M4E1 lower decked out. With an optic, BUIS, batteries in the stock, sling and flashlight my entire build came out under 9lbs which is crazy with an Hbar barrel. It also shot sub 1" groups with an Eotech at 50 yards using m855. Hitting a man-sized silhouette at 300 yards was effortless. Haven't tried to shoot for groups at 100 yards with a magnified optic yet but I'm sure it's capable of moa. Quality also seems very nice.
