Most Helpful Positive Review I actually fired 200 rounds of this clean and accurate ammo.
Bought two 200 round boxes of ammo incorporated 223, fired 200 rounds through my AR 15 using an Echo Trigger. Not all on Echo mode. Shot from the bench using the mag as a monopod, and standing unsupported, you know, off hand. The 100 meter target had about a 3" group, most fired unsupported, two inc...

Most Helpful Negative Review Not as advertised
After research about "Ammo Inc, including the brass they use" I decided this would be excellent .223 Rem. ammo, and the price seemed okay. After receiving the 200 rd. 55gr .223 rem ammo I opened the container to look at the rounds....found at least 5 different brands of brass (may be more), and I a...

holy God this stuff is terrible.

by brother josh, from ID, United States Written on April 24, 2025
Local gun shop had 200 rounds for 90 bucks so I thought why not...I should have thought better of it. There can not be a more inconsistent round than ammo inc. It cant keep a 3 moa group passed 25 yards and even at 25 yards I was having issues. I spent 200 bucks on this ammo thinking it was my optic (vortex stone run) or my rifle. I also had it jam twice on me the second time being today.i have probably 50 rounds left and I really don't want to use them because I hunt coyotes and heaven forbid I aim for the head and shoot it in the hind end.
Pros:
  • comes with a small ammo can
Cons:
  • everything else
Best Used for:
  • becoming extremely frustrated

Right Ammo at Right Price

by TRA, Verified Owner from TN, United States Written on September 22, 2023
This Signature .223 Remington 55 grain Full Metal Jacket Brass-Cased Centerfire Rifle Ammunition from Ammo, Inc. preformed perfectly at the range. In fact, it was so much fun shooting that I used twice as many rounds as I intended. This ammo, along with the Crimson Trace red dot sight I added to my rifle made shooting and HITTING my targets as joy.

Bad ammo would not recommend

by Erica H, Verified Owner from UT, United States Written on July 18, 2023
We bought this and just went out to shoot it and it jammed the gun up and we had to take down the gun to get the round out and I know it's not the gun because we used other ammo and it worked just fine. It was a horrible experience.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Bad ammo
  • Jamming
  • Not firing

Range master for LE

by John, from TN, United States Written on June 9, 2023
the 223 55 grain jams and one round blew my bolt assembly apart. We were on firing line and it was pure luck no one was hurt. The 223 lot number had a 300 black out round in it. Im ready for the class action lawsuit. Ammo inc needs to replace my gun. and take responsibility for this. Reading these posts its happened to others. Wake up Jared Smith!!!!

Ammo quality

by Kerry Johnson, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on February 20, 2023
I had a great experience with my bulk 9mm ammo but their .223 was terrible. I took it to the range this last Friday and during my shooting drills I had multiple rounds that jammed my gun so bad that I had to drop the mag and mortar the rifle. Unconvinced that it was the ammo, we then tried the rounds in 2 other rifles with the same result. Luckily I had some Winchester rounds on hand to use, but I was unable to use the ammo as i deemed it unsafe. It's unfortunate because I'm a police officer and training is a very big part of my job.
Pros:
  • Price
Cons:
  • Reliability issue
Best Used for:
  • Training failure drills

Dangerous Hot Garbage

by WHOxME, from CO, United States Written on June 22, 2022
I didn't purchase this ammo from Optics Planet but I was looking at current ammo deals on Optics Planet and saw the same Ammo Inc trash that I bought from my local Bass Pro Shop and couldn't help but leave a review. Honestly I only purchased this ammo for the ammo can and that is all it's good for. I loaded this up in my AUG and every 4th or 5th round would jam. After clearing the jam I noticed each round that was jammed was not firing and was still "hot" which is a major red flag and very dangerous. After a few more tries a noticed the rounds that were jamming looked off. Upon further inspection I noticed some casings were cut in half and investigated further and found those that were becoming jammed were being cycled and capped in a sense by the previous round case that was cut in half essentially causing the jammed rounds to be to large in diameter to properly cycle. I think these are over pressured which also caused the ejections to be erratic and not consistent. Needless to say after the third or fourth jam I switched to both steel and another brand of brass rounds and had no issues. DO NOT BUY! Major safety hazard!
Pros:
  • Does the ammo can count?
Cons:
  • Unreliable
  • Cheap
  • Relatively unknown brand
Best Used for:
  • Endangering yourself and/or firearm

A realistic assessment

by Chaynephire, from FL, United States Written on May 6, 2022
After reading previous reviews I was a bit stunned by the negatives. Firstly the description does say reprocessed brass but these were all consistently polished and no blems at all. Ran 120 this morning without any misfires and yes a few were fliers for sure. 16 inch 1/8 twist. Accurate enough to stay center mass at 150 yds. I'm thinking some of the barrels in these reviews weren't the best.
Pros:
  • Price
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Target mag dump small game

Do not buy! Blew AR to pieces !

by Steve, from IL, United States Written on April 15, 2022
Brand new gun, less the 100 pounds though it. These rounds are dinged up, primers all over the place, some hot, some not. These are GARBAGE! Ammo incorporated will be knee deep in some class action here before too long if I had to guess. Totally unacceptable. I'd love to upload pictures of what this did to my gun.... DO NOT BUY!

INCREDIBLY INCONSISTENT

by Bronco Henry, Verified Owner from UT, United States Written on April 11, 2022
I purchased these through optics planet for a mag dump type ammo for my coyote gun on the range. Sometimes accuracy doesnt matter, so i said "what the heck" and got these cause, ya know, cheap. My worst rimfire ammunition is more reliable than this .223. You will not be even close to MOA at even 50yds. I wont even keep the brass. It is the only ammo out the 7 I shot today that would not cycle consistently out of my mini 14 (5,10,20rd mags) almost like it didn't have enough charge to move the block (my gun was clean), again every other brand hunting ammo in my collection cycles like a dream. Out of the bolt action I can normally hit a glof ball at 100yds (with near any other ammo), this stuff best I could do was 4 MOA. It wasn't even consistent groupings either, like you were shooting only flyers. So I set up some clay pigeons at 100yds and this was the real test of if you could even consider hunting with it, and we're talking like 50% misses all day with that ammo ON CLAY PIGDEONS AT 100YDS! Every other ammo lived up to that challenge as it should. The first thing I did when I got home was write this review because we just stopped shooting it, everyone hated it. Every other ammo cycled whether it be hunting or bulk or match. Every other ammo was slapping targets. This stuff has more flyers than Philadelphia.
Pros:
  • You get a $130 plastic ammo can
Cons:
  • Bad brass for reloading, Unreliable, inaccurate
Best Used for:
  • Display purposes only
