As a lefty, I don't favor a forward assist. This also doesn't have much of a brass deflector. Regardless, functions flawlessly and haven't gotten any brass in my face. Finish is a bit off from an m&p lower, but I'm going to paint it anyway.

I don't see anywhere that this is a blem item. But the one I received looked borderline used. Or at least dropped. Finish was totally worn through in 4 spots. One of the mlok slots looked like someone tried to incorrectly install something on it. The rail doesn't lock on to the barrel nut, it clamps on. If you have OCD getting it lined up correctly took multiple tries. The rail and the upper match up well enough and the upper definitely has a unique look. Wish I had gotten a new one though...

too good to to be true I run a BCM gunfighter charging handle and a dead foot arms bolt carrier group neither would fit in this.! I bought a with every single roll mark on them and never had one out of spec from the cheapest to the most expensive and I'm serious Anderson to seekins precision never had one this bad

All in all everything came individually wrapped with bubble wrap. The quality was what to be expected no flaws or imperfections. The coating was perfect not to thick where it rubs your charging handle from the inside. All in all its quality for the price.

I received the ASC Billet Upper Receiver today, and although Optics Planet forgot to ship the 7” hand guard, I’m happy with the receiver itself (and I will review the hand guard once received). I mated the receiver to an AERO M4E1 receiver and it mated perfectly. My Radian charging handle and FAXON lightweight BCG fit without any issues. The finish is very similar to that of the AERO, so it doesn’t look mismatched. My ASC receiver only had one small/very minor blemish, but it’s in a location that will be covered by the hand guard, so I’m fine with it for the price I paid for this receiver/hand guard combo. I would recommend this item if a slick side/slim/lightweight profile is your goal. My build minus the FAXON barrel, hand guard, muzzle brake and adj. gas block is right at 3 lbs. That weight includes the SB Mini brace, Elftmann Pro Lock trigger, Strike Industries shirt buffer tube/spring, Magpul MOE+ grip, etc. This should weigh just under 5 lbs. total (with empty mag) when complete. The upper receiver is 7.1oz.

It's a nice part at first glance. I got this for a future build I'm planning on doing. It dose have some chips missing in the finish on the threads, the front and rear areas of the main body. I was also planning on using this part as a project peace on my build so the little spots won't affect that. It is light weight and looks great. I have seen these uppers go for a lot more but this one here at Optic Planet is worth the money. I believe its priced jut right for a 6061 T6 upper. It fits nicely on my lower receiver.
