Most Helpful Positive Review This made my upper work! I just ordered three more!
I have one of these on a 10.5" .300 blackout upper with pistol length gas tube. This makes all the difference in my pistol functioning perfectly with it or not at all without it using most ammo especially running a sound suppressor. I use a long Allen wrench I got on Amazon that reaches inside my 10...

Most Helpful Negative Review missing gas adjustment screw.
Came in a sealed package missing the most important part of an adjustable gas block..... the adjustment screw. Anyone who’s built an AR knows how annoying it is to have a build stopped dead by a missing 2 cent part. Hey Anderson, ever heard of a quality check? Now I have to order a new one and wait ...

Poor quality parts, buyer beware,

by Lyle, Verified Owner from AZ, United States Written on November 21, 2020
I had high hopes for this gas block. I am using it on an AR-15 chambered in .300 blackout (hog gun). It installed easily and seemed like e decent quality, until I got to the range. As with any adjustable gas block, this one needed some adjustments from factory settings. It had my gun under gassed and would eject the spent casing, but would not cycle completely and chamber the next round. The trouble came when I went to adjust the gas, I couldn't make any adjustments because the adjustment screw was cracked. I have tried everything I can think of to make the adjustments I need, with ZERO success. Now I need to purchase a new gas block and hope the build quality is on point. Save yourself some trouble (and money) and buy a quality gas block from the start.

Anderson gas block. adjustable..

by jim, Verified Owner from AZ, United States Written on July 18, 2018
This gas block is 1.000 inches long and about 1.4275 inches in height... and about .909 inches wide.... it weighs 1.8 ox..... exactly..... It is really one of the best made adjustable gas blocks on the market...in my opinion...the design is superior and more easily adjusted than almost any other disign regardless of price.. unfortunately it has gone up in price otherwise I would only buy this gas block since is so well made...
Pros:
  • quality, ease of adjustment
Cons:
  • None...

Adjustable is great, but...

by Joe, from OK, United States Written on March 5, 2018
I put this on my AR10 from CMMG, and being adjustable is great, but the light .308 vermin rounds were stretching the capability of this product. The CMMG is known for being over gased, so this might be different on another brand. Works great on heavier loads though.
Pros:
  • positive adjustments
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Heavy loads

True adjustable gas block

by Deryk, from CO, United States Written on July 5, 2017
I've used 3 of these Anderson blocks on my builds and they are by far the most consistent and fully functional adjustable blocks I've found. I tried going a cheaper route recently and found not only did the gas block not close off enough of the gas to be effective, but it was poorly made as well and I had gas leak out around the block itself. When I contacted the vendor, they didn't seem to think it was a big issue the block didn't "fully function". I've never had this with an Anderson. Anderson blocks also allow you to close it off completely, making it effectively a "bolt" action rifle. Regardless of whether it's closed completely or open just enough to allow the gun to cycle, it keeps the bcg and chamber much cleaner than a standard gas block.
Pros:
  • Fully Functional
Cons:
  • No Stainless Steel Option
Best Used for:
  • Any caliber in AR platform

Very nice adjustable gas block with click adjustments

by Tom, Verified Owner from MO, United States Written on March 28, 2017
I ordered two of these for two of my rifles. They didn't have the Anderson logo on the side like it shows in the pics, but that doesn't matter because they are both going under free float handguards.

These use a spring and detent to keep the adjustment screw from walking. The adjustment screw has four grooves or "flutes" along it that the detent secures into. The adjustment was very tight on both of them to begin with, like it was stuck from being in storage, but once I "unfroze" it, it turns and operates fine.

It has 4 clicks per full revolution of the adjustment screw, and a total of 24 clicks from stop to stop (full open to full closed) for a total of 6 full revolutions.

I would recommend this item and plan on using them on future builds.
