Good Stuff
Not too difficult to install yourself with a punch set. Much better than a standard charging handle.
Not perfect but better than the standard stuff
The ones I have are the Gen 2 latches and having 2 of them, I think they’re good but there are some downsides. One is that it pokes your belly whether your fat or not the other is that if your wearing a vest (which gets rid of the poking) but it can snag on it. Despite those you can work around them. There have been a couple times especially when I first starting using them have my hand slipped off but now using them for years I don’t remember the last time my hand slipped off while operating the charging handle just worked around it I guess. Overall I do like them and I think they’re a decent replacement of the standard latches. Would I buy it again? Yes.

Perfect for Rearward Optic
I get what the review meant about fingers sliding off, but if you are the kind of cat who likes to use the side of his hand, this is perfect. Adds no weight and allows for your optic to be as far back as you like. I have more than one.

Installed, Tried It Out, Immediate Regret!
I bought 2 of these to replace standard latches on standard charging handles in Aero Precision AR-15 upper receivers. Just by looking at these you can see how the latch "bottoms out" on the front of the handle as apposed to "bottoming out" on the roll pin, which I like. That's the only thing this has going for it.
Here are some problems I noticed with this inferior design...
-When fully depressed the latch is angled back well past perpendicular, encouraging your fingers to slip off the latch
-The texturing on the front of the latch is the only thing countering lost grip, which is unnecessarily rough on bare fingers
-The latch is made of steel and will wear down faster on the interfacing latch slot on your aluminum upper receiver
-Even when fully depressed the latch partially collides with the edge of the latch slot increases wear
This thing is worthless!

better than standard
This works great. Much improved over a standard latch. It is kind of a grey color, and almost appears to sparkle a little. I don't really care what it looks like, since it works well. I don't know if there is any reason to buy this over another one, however.
Pros:
- Price
Cons:
- None
