The safe is well built. A couple notes...When programming the safes fingerprint log in. You want to make sure your finger is in a recognizable place on the pad. Meaning you have to be consistent where your finger is placed on the pad in order for the safe to recognize the reading. But after repeatedly practicing placement of the finger and practiced opening it for a couple months. I now have the hang of it. Secondly , and I do not know this for a fact. I wipe the glass after each use as your fingerprint does get left behind. From what I'm told if done right and wearing the proper gloves. Someone can open the devise by just activating the sensor by using the previous persons fingerprint reading, and that's something I want to be aware of when closing the safe up. I cant confirm this as of now but I leave a lens cleaner cloth next to the safe. What I like about the safe is if you leave the safe open for longer than about three or four minutes and also if not locked... the safe chirps, reminding you that the safe is still open. I think this is a very smart feature. Particularly if you were going in the safe for other documents and forgot to close it. Lastly, having three ways of opening the safe is a nice option. Biometric, key code and finally a key. which is important as the safe needs batteries to operate the locking mechanism. I purchased the Barska after reading many reviews that said the biometrics were very good. I bought 2 of the smaller models and they work great. This model just doesn't work well at all. It can take 7 or 8 attempts before it will open. The first safe came in and the door was mis-aligned so the door would not open without me pulling very hard on the door. The biometrics did not work very well on the first safe I received either. So after spending $25.00 to ship it back I decided it was not worth another $25.00 to return it again so I just use the key pad.

Excellent product for the money. Biometric features work well. Large enough to hold five pistols plus mags.

i had originally ordered this with zoo stores and then cancelled my order promptly after finding out they didnt have it after my order(still waiting for a refund a 2 months later) and i order this with optics got it when i was supposed to and item was packaged well thanks

Packaging was poor, the post office did it's best to trash it and though the safe was OK, everything else in the box was trashed. Optics Planet said they would replace the crushed batteries but I have yet to see anything

I did quite a bit of research on safes before I purchased this Barska safe. It has almost every feature I needed, and holds my three handguns easily. Has given me considerable peace of mind for safe and concealed storage of my guns. Be prepared to exercise some patience (and a small, flat screwdriver) when installing the batteries, however:(

Cons: Not fireproof

Very disappointed in this purchase. Setup at first seemed easy with the fingerprints. Was a little tricky getting it to read some of the fingerprints, but thought it was all done, when the reader would only accept them a couple of times then would stop recognizing them. My wife and I both had the same issue. We burned through the factory batteries just trying to get it to record and consistently accept our fingerprints. Ultimately, this is not a system I would trust in an emergency. Safe went back and I'm searching for a different brand.

Cons: noisy shelf; squeeky locks and door; inconsistent fingerprint reader; not reliable and burns up batteries.

Thoroughly satisfied.

The finger print reader has not failed on me at all. This is very important in times of duress. The key pad works well as a back up.

It will safely store your weapon from children! Adequate for my needs!
Pros: Can fit handgun and extra magazines with no problem
