Most Helpful Positive Review Good but not great,
I bought this scope to go on a 22-250 for varmint and bench shooting on occasion. Glass is good, no problems around the edges, light transmission is ok, but not up to the level of my VX5HD 3-15x44 firedot. Leupold. But the Leopold is $600.00 higher. Turrets are good , very good feel, not mushy. Zero...

Most Helpful Negative Review Good, but ....
I had serious issues sighting this thing in. As in I could not do it. Now I am no greenhorn. I grew up around rifles and did one tour in the USMC and two in the Army. And for the life of me I could not get this thing on paper - even at 25 yards. I had to send it back and Burris had to work on it. Tu...

Excellent scope, great glass, bright illumination!

by J Dean, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on October 22, 2025
I have 3 of these scopes on different rifles. They have been all over the world from the Yukon to Africa. Great glass. Takes the punishment of my .300WM and maintains zero perfectly. Even in super bright light the illuminated reticle is visible. Warranty if ever needed if also the best you can ask for!

suprsingly good for price point

by CEP, Verified Owner from SC, United States Written on April 15, 2025
First 1 inch scope that have purchased in quite some time.
I cannot notice any lack of visual detail or light gathering, compared to my supposedly“higher-quality manufacturer” 30 millimeter, scopes.
Most importantly to me, the adjustment“clicks” are firm and distinct, with no shift of zero even when bouncing on the back of an ATV.
it is lighter and less obtrusive than a 30mm scope.
Probably not my first choice for a scope trying to shoot at 800 or 1000 yards. Inside of 500 yards it can do about anything, you could ask of it.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • N/A
Best Used for:
  • Hunting and general shooting

excellent rifle scope

by Gadget, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on January 29, 2025
I use this scope on a Browning X bolt Speed 7mm PRC. It has very clear glass and good light transmission. The parallax adjustment and illuminated reticle are nice for a scope at this price.

Burris Scopes are Under Rated!

by Russ, Verified Owner from OK, United States Written on November 10, 2024
I only own 3 and they are not top of the line but they are clear, sharp well made scopes that have never failed me. On top of that they have a lifetime no questions asked warranty. No receipt required and you don’t have to be the original purchaser. If it’s broken or not working right just send it in and they will fix it or replace it! You can’t do any better than that.
Pros:
  • Good glass, well made, great warranty
Cons:
  • Some of the less expensive scopes are made in China

excellent optic

by Mik, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on July 6, 2024
the unit arrived super fast and safe. Just as described. once mounted and bore sighted it was almost a breeze to dial in. the exception was the elevation adjustment. it was not clear that the unit came with the zero height locked, and the instruction for unlocking were a little vague so I ended up loosening more sets than I needed to. but that aside it is sharp and clear. the zero lock is a super feature.
Pros:
  • sharp, clear, very comfortable to adjust and use with either hand.
Cons:
  • instructions a little hard to follow - took some time to understand all functions
Best Used for:
  • knocking the eye off a gnat at 300 yds.

I didn’t want a fancy or illuminated reticle, I wanted a simple and dependable scope for hunting. This is it.

Optical Quality

by CrablegJr, from TN, United States Written on March 31, 2024
Let me start by saying I'm a camera guy so image quality is a big thing for me which this scope nails not only considering what I paid but in comparison to some stuff above its price range. This scope is definitely a great buy for those looking for a hunting scope with a little more than a basic scope but not over complicated like PRS scope in terms of busy reticles in FFp. It provides well appreciated features like zero stop pop cap turrets which is greatly appreciated at 500$ price point on a second focal plane/rear focal plane scope which will not be used for in scope hold overs but instead dialing for corrections. I was once trying to get best bang for buck and was close to getting FFP scopes like Primary Arms SLX 3-18 gen 2 Arken EP4L 4-16 and Vortex Diamondback Tactical 4-16 but decided the FFP feature just isn't needed for hunting/bench shooting gun where dialing corrections is more than ample and the smaller retinal at low magnification will pose as hinderance in some applications. The decision was also made because clearer glass seems more of a focus with Burris since most their optics are USA made and use Japanese glass down to the low end optics and the more recent signature HD line is made in china but assuming the company stays to its standards shouldn't be a a problem. The other optics mentioned can be seen having a lot more chromatic aberration and more inconsistent quality control The other options I listed are nearly double or more in weight which for hunti...

good price, greatl glass.

by Fred, Verified Owner from MA, United States Written on February 9, 2024
This is my third Burris hd scope. I like them because of great clarity, great magnification and parallax magnification from 25 yds out. Put it on my new Kidd custom 10/22 and so far so good. I compete in 22 shoots and great from 25 to 100 yds.

Great all Purpose Rifle Optic

by Smith and Wesson 23, Verified Owner from TN, United States Written on October 31, 2023
I really like lots of things about this scope. the reticle, elevation/windage adjustment knobs, and daylight bright illumination are all fantastic. It seems to be CE try tough as well and comes with a lifetime warranty which is nice. Overall it’s an awesome optic at a great price that will enable you to do most anything you can imagine with any rifle.
