Most Helpful Positive Review Burris Micro Adjust Tripod Makes Using Spotting Scopes Easy
The micro adjust feature (a pair of screws used to change the scope boresight in both angle and elevation) makes using a high power spotting scope easy instead of a pain. The micro adjust screws allow the user to find and center targets without moving the tripod and knocking the sight picture out of...

Most Helpful Negative Review Compact tripod
Its a decent, value-priced tripod, but is only useful for small scopes. Only medium strength frame. Nice. BUT - the male scope mounting bolt on top is not long enough to engage the threads on my 80mm Bushnell scope. I'm now shopping for another, more robust tipod. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR 80mm SCOPE...

Worked well for about 10 minutes...

by Johnbsa219, from FL, United States Written on July 24, 2015
The micro adjust tripod is an excellent idea but the micro adjust knobs are not mounted well in the tripod frame as do they quickly loosened and now the scope just falls down and looks in the dirt. I have gone back to using my old camera tripod and just being careful. For the price the micro adjust wasnt bad but it is more off a tassel than it is worth now
Pros:
  • Cheap
Cons:
  • You get what you pay for

Light Duty

by ORShooter, from OR, United States Written on March 13, 2015
I bought this for my Leupold GR 15-45x60 spotting scope and it would not support this scope! It is not an overly large spotting scope. It was disappointing and I had to send the product back. Not the deal I was looking for...

Burris 300141 Spotting scope tripod/window mount

by Craig, from FL, United States Written on February 18, 2015
As always, prompt delivery. First impressions: solid, sturdy, tight tolerances. Adjustment for elevation and windage worked smoothly, and the tripod is sufficiently stable to hold a heavy Nikon spotting scope in place without sagging, even at 90 degree angle. Haven't tried window mount, but like having that option. Very good value.

Light weight table top tripod does the job.

by thatlldo, from MT, United States Written on January 3, 2015
The Burris Spotting Scope Micro Adjust Tripod & Window Mount arrived promptly new condition. It was well packed. On first inspection the tripod seemed well made and everything worked perfectly. In the short time I have had it, no defects have been observed. The construction is solid and the locking mechanisms and the micro adjustment feature both work as they are intended. The tripod is light weight but solid and stable. It is slightly heavier and larger than the tripod that comes with the Redfield scope. The center elevation post and the legs are metal. Although the tripod is light weight, it supported my Redfield 20-60x spotting scope with no problem. I found that panning with the micro adjustments which move the scope horizontally and change the angle of elevation was a pleasure. The movement was smooth and the adjusters worked easily with no play.

On this tripod, the head of the instrument is clamped onto the tripod base. This provides for gross adjustments in angle and allows for the head to be moved off of the tripod and attached to a car window or surface of similar thickness. The the tripod itself has a metal plate to which the head is attached with the threaded pressure foot. There is no tripod mount on the main tripod. The tripod mount is integral to the removable head. At first this seemed odd to me but as I thought about it, I realized that this design provides for more flexibility in use. Not only can you move the head to another surface (like a ...

Good, solid Tripod.

by Robert Wagle, from CA, United States Written on September 23, 2014
I purchased this to go with a Barska scope I ordered. I returned the scope, but kept the tripod and am glad I did. I have several full sized tripods, but did not have a table top tripod. I have used it with another scope I purchased and it is very solid and stable. The window mount works great also. Glad I kept it.
Pros:
  • light weight
  • Solid mount
  • stable
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Spotiing scope
  • camera

Buyer beware

by Legacy Reviewer, from CO, United States Written on July 3, 2012
I have had way too much trouble with the tightening lever for the scope platform on this unit. The plastic lever is like cheese and strips as soon as you tighten it down enough to support an average spotting scope. Burris customer customer service is terrible. They slowly sent me a replacement that was already stripped and then stonewalled me so I would go away. And go away I did, after my experience I'm done with Burris. I'm buying a Nikon mount, from OP, of course.
Pros: windage and elevation adjustments are slick
Cons: Tightening lever strips

Best combination bench tripod/window mount.

by littlebuddymicah, from OR, United States Written on May 16, 2011
This very fine tabletop tripod from Burris features an excecellent fine adjust panhead that can be removed from the stand and easily mounted to your vehicle's window. This combination mount is great for optics under 4 lbs.My spotting scope, binoculars and camcorder are light weight. This unit is NOT designed for 80mm spotting scopes,so it is not quite a 5 star product, but very close.
Pros: Versatility,panhead
Cons: Not for large spotting scopes

Burris 300141 Spotting Scope Micro-Adjust Tripod & Window Mount

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on December 22, 2010
This tripod is being used on a bench with a relatively large spotting scope so the height and the ability to adjust the height is important. The micro-adjustments for rotation and elevation work fine and for this application is probably better than a handle which requires loosening and re-tightening to adjust. The tripod appears to be made well but time will tell if the micro-adjustments retain their current adjustability attributes. I didn't need the window mount feature but I couldn't find the same tripod without it. This feature is probably responsible for the higher price.
Pros: Micro adjustments, size
Cons: Price

Miceo adj/window mount tripod

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on July 12, 2010
Really like the micro adjust feature and window mount function. However a table top tripod is not stable enough for an 80 mm spotting scope. Should work fine for smaller optical devices.
Pros: Price, features
Cons: Not for larger spotting scopes

Decent mount for the price

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on May 24, 2010
I purchased with the intention of scrapping the tripod and utilizing the window mount portion of the unit only. The tripod is useable for a very light weight optic.
Pros: The fine az and el adjusters worked well
Cons: It is only useful in mounting light weight optics
