Most Helpful Positive Review Excellent Scope with Very Excellent Glass
This scope is excellent, I was between this scope and the Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10 and did some research on the Burris. It turns out the Burris XTR II has great glass and very well built. To get something with this quality and options you are going to pay a lot more. The turrets are great the illumination is good and has zero stop. It being a 34mm tube makes it pretty sturdy. I love the fact that it's a first focal plane and the only mild down side is that it is a little bit heavier. It also comes with a forever warranty no question asked . I'm using this on a 20" precision build and absolutely...

Great optic

by JoePa, Verified Owner from WI, United States Written on March 13, 2020
Have this mounted on my 5.56 DMR. Very clear and the magnification range is perfect for an AR. Adjustments are very easy and tactile. The illumination has been perfect in the conditions I've used it in so far. Cant speak for a bright sunny day yet.

Exactly what I hoped for.

by Stefan McFarland, from TX, United States Written on December 3, 2017
Put on lightweight AR 10 build in 6.5 Creedmoor.
Pros: Excellent low light performance. Clear glass. Nice Turrets. Comes with sunshade and flip caps.
Cons: The SCR MOA reticle is a little fine but I'm getting used to it, really needs to be at 10x to be useful. Eyebox is pretty tight. Front lens cap broke on first outing. Illumination not daylight visible, but I knew this going into it like most FFP scopes.
Overall I'm very pleased with the scope so far. Has tracked consistently out to 600 on steel. This is primarily my hunting optic, and the lowlight performance is much better than my previous Leupold Mark 4. At this price point I don't think there is anything better out there. Considered the 3-15 but didn't want the additional 6 ounce weight penalty. Considered the 1-8 but the lack of parallax adjustment was a show stopper for me.

Elk Hunting

by JamesinNM, from NM, United States Written on April 9, 2017
Used this scope two years for elk hunting in Northern NM. Clean kills at 430 yards and 320 yards. Just dialed up the elevation and shot. 420 yard shot was from valley below a Mesa with elk standing on the edge of the Mesa with a beautiful clear blue sky behind her, a magnificent sight through this scope.

Perfect SPR

by Mtn.Hunter, from CO, United States Written on March 11, 2017
It has all the right features for a perfect SPR scope. It's not the lightest option but it makes up for weight in quality and durability. I looked at the new Vortex PST's and Sig scopes but I went with the Burris due a more proven track record and personal experience with other Burris products. A Larue 20MOA scope base with 34mm rings works perfectly.
