Most Helpful Positive Review Burris XTR
I was in the market to find a decent scope for a decent price which had a lot of features for my intended use. I can across this scope after reading about it on some other internet sites. I was originally wanting the next model up, the 4x20x50, but it was not in stock. This model was available, t...

Most Helpful Negative Review Worst line of scopes ever
With all of the hype on the XTR II line I am extremely Disappointed in this product. Not once, but TWICE has the reticle canted inside of the optic after the first time firing with it. The first time I figured I was just unlucky in receiving a bad item off the shelf. After dealing with burris custo...

Burris Scope

by T, from TX, United States Written on February 5, 2019
I like the SCR reticle, and the glass is very clear. The scope is a little on the heavier side, but its features make up for that. The turrets are very easy to spin and are easy to adjust. I would definitely buy again, oh wait I have already!

Best Dollar for Dollar Scope

by FOOJ, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on July 14, 2018
This scope has a first focal plane, fine reticle for accurate hold over and wind corrections, exposed turrets with zero stop, and illumination. When combined with 110 moa of elevation and a 20 moa mount, its easy to get a 308 on target at 1000 yards. The glass is clear and the colors are bright, however there is some minor chromatic distortion at the edges on higher magnification. This can be corrected by slightly shifting your cheek weld making the corner needed in focus for the shot. At 1/3 of the price of a NF, or 1/2 the price of a Vortex Razor Gen II this thing is a great value. I have no problem keeping up with the big dogs at the 1000 yard shoots with a setup that cost less than some of their optics alone.
Pros:
  • value
  • Ergonomics
  • First focal plane
  • zoom range
Cons:
  • Heavy
  • Distortion at very edge
Best Used for:
  • competition
  • Tactical
  • long range

Burris Xtreme for precision shooting

by Twineagles, Verified Owner from IA, United States Written on March 9, 2018
I chose the Burris XTR 3-15 to go on a Savage 10 FCP LE .308 for precision shooting. Reading reviews of different scopes the clarity of the optic was always brought up. In comparing optics at my local range, in it's price range it outshines most. It also features a lifetime warranty. Scope looks and feels well made. Turrets are heavy duty.
Pros:
  • Lifetime warranty, best glass, reasonable price.
Cons:
  • None so far!
Best Used for:
  • Long range shooting

A lot of bang for the buck

by Ben, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on May 24, 2017
If you're like me, you've never grouped Burris into your list of manufacturers for quality long range precision scopes. At the same price as an (at the time) gen 1 Vortex PST with FFP, this scope blows it out of the water. It checks all the blocks for features I find important: FFP, mil/mil turrets, side parallax, and spoils me with 10 mil revolutions, and zero stop. It tracks well and the glass is clear and bright.
It's a bit heavy, but most 34mm tube scopes tend to be.
I love SCR mil reticle. It's just technical enough near the center to make accurate holds but not too busy to get a good sight picture.
If this scope had a NF on the side it would cost 3x as much. I'm not saying its better, but if you miss the same targets as the guy with the NF, its because you suck, not bc the scope cant deliver.
Pros:
  • Price to features
Cons:
  • Weight and size
Best Used for:
  • long distance

Great Glass and Features

by M. Grace, from VA, United States Written on August 11, 2016
I purchased this scope for a custom Aero Precision build. It is mounted with an Aadmount scope mount. The scope is rock solid and built like a tank. The turrets have positive clicks without being overly tight. The reticle is awesome, however I feel that the lower illumination settings are useless. That isn't really a big deal because the other settings are great when needed. The glass is phenomenal. It is clear from edge to edge, even when set to higher magnifications. It is also a great scope in low light situations. I highly recommend this scope and believe it compares well with higher prices scopes.
Pros:
  • Glass, construction, features, attention to detail
Cons:
  • None.

burris XTR II 3-15

by Andy, from TX, United States Written on March 31, 2016
I purchased this scope about two weeks ago to use on an 18" Grendel build. I went back and forth on several scopes but ultimately settled on this one because it seems very feature-rich for the money. Illumination, FFP, and a zerostop mechanism are important to me so when I found this scope at a price under many other scopes with these features I had to try it.I haven't taken it out yet but my initial impressions are mostly positive. In my opinion there are three primary knocks against it so far.
1. Stiff turrets: The turrets are much stiffer than I imagined they would be. Comparing them to my Razor HD I'd say that are twice as hard to turn, but most guys would consider this nothing more than inconvenient, and they would be right. But, for me, I would like them to be a little easier to handle.

2. Lack of cat tail choices: This is another thing that most users wouldn't consider relevant. There are a few companies that make throw levers specifically for this XTR II. I personally went with Aadland (which is a bit bulky but that's what I was shooting for) and it gets the job done pretty well.

3. Weight: At 30.9oz this scope is definitely on the heavy side. However it is not unlike other scopes in it's class, and since this is a dedicated range toys that is meant to shoot off of a bench the weight issue is null and void in my opinion. On the other hand, the weight is reportedly due to its ruggedness and durability. I have NOT had this scope to the range yet but right away I can...
