Simple and solid

Written on Dec 20, 2020

Very solid finger stop. Useful on its own or paired with another foregrip. Once installed this thing isn't going to budge. As with all Arisaka products, very great quality from a brand you can trust. Maybe a bit fat for wedging between fingers if you have tiny hands, but as a small glove size shooter I still find it very comfortable between my index and middle finger, or middle and ring finger.

Simple, useful, strong

Written on Dec 17, 2020

Easy to put together and the way it locks into the ridges on the magazine is very sturdy. Absolutely no wiggle. Spacing between mags is perfect for both AK and AR receivers, though you may have to lower the mag on the right to allow an AR dust cover to open/close or to access the safety on an AK. Time will tell how durable it really is but it appears to be the same strength as all other Magpul products.

Do what they need to

I've used these for several builds. They work exactly as they should and take the wiggle out of the receiver. Requires a bit of fitting but they are very useful once you have them cut down to size. Highly recommended.

The best vertical grip

Written on Oct 03, 2020

Great all around. The identifiable feature that makes it better than most are the contour of the mounting plate area. A lot of other grips are too fat and have too tall of a curve in that area and it makes it uncomfortable for the top-most finger, but this is much slimmer and the finger closest to the handguard never feels like it's being pressured uncomfortably. The angle is also really nice, especially when running the grip in reverse, allowing for a noticeably more aggressive pull on it without having to actually exert any extra energy holding it against the shoulder. I do wish the sides of the mounting area were a bit slimmer so they didn't stick out on handguards with a slim lower rail, and some kind of rubber cap for the bottom so I could store things in it would have been a good addition too. But overall I like it way more than my Magpul grips and at the price it really is unbeatable.

Really interesting and useful accessory

Written on Oct 03, 2020

I wasn't sure if this was worth the price at first but I purchased one out of curiosity and I couldn't be more pleased. It's very useful, and the angle is just right to get a nice strong grip on it with your thumb, especially when paired with a finger/handstop or other foregrip. It's especially useful if you run a tape switch for your WML on your top rail and find that your thumb-over grip is resulting in bad light discipline. It allows you to perform almost the same grip on the handguard while keeping your thumb away from any light controls. I like to remove the spacer and run it as tight to the handguard as possible, but those with larger thumbs or oddly shaped handguards will definitely find the spacer useful. My only suggestion would be a different shape or texturing on the top of the thumb pad. A scalloped/concave design with some light checkering or a grippy rubber cap would be much more comfortable. I will likely just modify mine with some Sugru moldable rubber, but it would have been better if there was just a bit more thought put into its shape. Otherwise the overall idea and engineering of it is pretty unique and genuinely a pleasure to use.

Excellent covers

Written on Oct 03, 2020

Honestly, just really great. Slim, low profile, rigid, and very grippy texture while also being durable and affordable. Everything else out there is either flimsy, too rubbery, expensive, or bulky and weighty once you have your whole handguard fitted with them. These are the perfect mix of everything and are even vented if you have something that gets too hot and needs to breathe. It's worth buying two packs to use one set for cutting and sanding down to fit between other accessories (just try to keep them at a minimum of two slots, one-slot pieces are sorta wiggly).
