An okay red dot
Written on Nov 01, 2025
I bought the green dot version. Over all impressions is its well made. The lower rise supplied is something you dont see with other brands. A little concerning on the extra battery tray supplied with the unit so I assume use caution if you take the battery out.
The dot itself is actually pretty crisp. I have a slight astigmatism and thought the dot was pretty uniform and didnt bloom alot.
The con I came across is reflection of the laser color in the unit. Even on the lower settings it was noticeably bad. I only noticed this while indoors. Using the unit outside I did not notice it at all and while in dark enviroments it wasnt present. Not sure while its showing up in ambient lighting but its there

Decent trigger for the money

Ballistic Engineering AR Accurized Trigger
Probably one of the best cassette triggers for the money. Adjusting is a bit of a pain if you want to get to the 2.5lb range (go to far and wont reset). The reset and take up is very short. Behind glass its not a great 2.5lb trigger. Not saying the trigger is bad by any means but feels heavy behind glass for 2.5lb. I think it would be best suited for lower magnification setups.

Presma AR-15 M-LOK Free Float Handguard
I purchased the 17in version for a single shot AR build. This handgaurd is very sturdy. The barrel nut is long so it helps make this a rigid setup. Fit and finish is just as good as any higher end handguard Ive had. The balance point is about 1/4 from the nut which helps keep the balance towards the center of the gun. For the price this is a bargain.
I know I know "it doesnt have qd holes or anti rotational tabs". Lets get real, majority of users can live without a qd slot as there are plenty of attachments to fill that gap and anti rotation isnt a must for everyone. Dont sleep on this handguard.

Solid bag for the money

Roaring Fire 45L Tactical Backpack
Havent had a reason to question the durability of the bag yet. I use it as a range bag and lug around heavy/bulky items. Its internal stoage is very generous. Seems to be well made. Would buy again.

very light

Shot two 15 round groups with generic herters and cheap remington ammo. Both groups were 0.8in at 50 yards. Very consistent barrel and the weight savings is a plus.

This trigger kit has caused nothing but constant issues in my 43x. I put this trigger, a true precison barrel and a faxon exos comp in my 43x at the same time. Off the the range and had failure to go into battery. Not excessive but enough to where you could push the slide with thumb and it'd go into battery. My intial thought was compensators usually require a lighter recoil spring and that was the culprit.
After recieving a 15lb spring that only made the issue worse. I took the comp off and left in the TP barrel and it would still mimmick the same out of battery issues. I would guess at least 80% of the time. So I thought maybe its the barrel itself and put in the stock barrel. It acted even worse. I removed this trigger kit and put back in the oem assembly and what would you know, runs like a champ even with the compensator.
There were excessive dragging marks on the slide from the bars nub that engages the plunger. The nub itself had a flat spot from the excessive dragging agaisnt the slide. Im sure someone could tweak it to work but for the money I'd expect drop in functionality.
