Surprisingly decent

Like most reviewers, I think the reticle is way too hard to pick up at low power. If the skeleton vertical and horizontal lines outside the mil section were solid it would be a huge improvement in low power visibility. I'm really tempted to buy another for another airgun or .22lr, but the reticle makes it a hard sell. Illumination would be nice but then it would probably cost another 30-40$. Side focus is good for airgun stuff, or close targets in general.

Negative 20 moa mount

Written on Apr 16, 2022

I got a lemon. Mine is machined backwards so with the mount attached to the rifle the normal way the scope is pointed up away from the barrel. With the mount reversed it is angled the right way. The manufacturer has offered to inspect it at my expense and replace it, which I won't be doing because I didn't want this mount anyway and because why should I pay to fix their problem? Why aren't they shipping me a new mount on their dime? It was just a stop gap while I waited for better mounts to be available. I got what I paid for. Ironically the package says something about quality and machining and doing things right for a good price. I thought it was goofy marketing before I mounted it and I think it's a massive F now. This experience has me seriously reconsidering buying their optics instead of the Leupold or vortex I usually get, because if I get a lemon it looks like I'll have to pay to get it fixed.

Not impressed

Trigger has discernable creep and noticeable over travel. Reset isn't particularly short. The coil spring fork resting on the safety puts a lot of pressure on it and it's wearing the safety hole in the lower. Installation was fairly straightforward, instructions were clear but mostly ignored and unnecessary. The included slave pin was nice but an anti rotation pin would have been a nice addition. Compared to other triggers I have it's not great, especially for the cost. CMC and Rise do better on creep, over travel, and reset. Jard has about the same creep and reset of the Rise and CMC but it has a set trigger option that makes it worth the extra $. I might try the ECL version for a rimfire project out of curiosity regarding the dual coils potentially reducing port pop but so far this might be the only hiperfire trigger I buy. I'm just not confident it's worth the price on anything but a 7.62 steel range blaster at this point.

Disappointed

I thought I'd splurge a little and get this on sale, think I paid 75$ for it. In my opinion that was about 70$ too much. It's a wobbly poorly designed waste of money and aluminum. The inner surface of the handguard has deep fat splines, I have no opinion on it specifically other than it makes it unnecessarily heavy without aggressive lightening cuts. Theoretically it's a good idea and it would very positively engage with an appropriately matched barrel nut and keep it from rotating or shifting on the nut. Problem is the id is bored out where it interfaces with the barrel nut and the nut itself was splined appropriately to match the handguard before the od was turned down so only a small trace of spline remains. The 1/8" gap in the bottom of the handguard is almost completely closed by the time it starts to get tight on the nut, and from past experience with cheap handguards using a similar mount it won't hold because the surfaces aren't parallel. I'm glad I got it on sale but I'm not glad I got it. I'll be sticking to the 35-50$ handguards that use the simple mounting method of 6 cap screws into a long barrel nut and most likely avoiding any more high dollar handguards I don't see in the wild first.

Let's review the statements on the packaging. 'Self contained cartridge one piece assembly', yes. It is what it says it is. 'Positive trigger reset', yes. I can hear and feel it does reset, like all the triggers I've tried so far. 'Ultra crisp trigger', no. It's not 'ultra crisp', unless you're one of those people that like stale chips. 'Glass-smooth break', no. It might break like plexiglass but not glass, it has quite a bit of creep. 'Minimal lock time, match grade, easy to install'... maybe? It doesn't say what the lock time is or compare it to milspec, I wouldn't be satisfied with it's 'match grade performance', and easy to install compared to what? Milspec/two piece triggers aren't rocket surgery or brain science. I'm pretty disappointed with this for what I paid for it. It feels almost exactly the same as a 40$ nickel boron plated two piece trigger. So, 80$ for easier installation? I'm not satisfied and this won't be going in anything more than a plinking lower.
