Another user said this was "not a complete upper, it's a stripped upper"... he is WRONG.. a "complete" upper has the dust cover and forward assist installed. a Complete upper receiver as this is, has the afore mentioned items plus a barrel, gas block, handguard and flash hider installed, as this does. The person who posted that review does not know the industry and what the terminologies mean.

As to the item itself, it's excellent for the price. You cannot go wrong here, shoots straight / accurate, looks great, and seems to have excellent grade components. I recommend this completely if you are on the fence... just go into this knowing what the terms are and that you will need a Bolt Carrier group and charging handle. If you think you can get those items WITH all the other items it already has, then you need to think about this... a "decent" BCG by itself goes for around $80 (depending, and trust me, you do NOT want to cheap out on your BCG, I recommend even better ones that start around $135+ for great QC, etc) and a charging handle is $20+ for cheapies and only goes up from there... to think that you would get all that for sub $300 is a little crazy!

The screw totally stripped out in the cheap aluminum (purchased the Blue one). It wasn't the head of the screw that stripped either, it was the threading inside the back piece. It must be the SOFTEST aluminum in existence, because I didn't even crank on it, legit hand tight to make sure it was positioned where I wanted it before snugging it up, and it stripped right out! Replaced with another brand

Phase 5 does an amazing job with all their products, and this little button doesn't disappoint! It matches the other blue anodized items I put on my rifle perfectly, and looks really good doing it. I highly recommend!

What can I say? I know... This is a GREAT dust cover, which has been the absolute EASIEST to install in my many years of building AR platform rifles. The bar it comes with is so smooth and easy to run through the mounting holes for the dust cover that I kid you not, it took longer to twist the spring around properly than it did to push the bar through! All in all took me literally 4 minutes to swap out my old, put the new in and be done. In fact the adjustment for the stop pin / close pin for the port to retain shut took the most time (not hard, just saying it was the longest part lol).
Color is amazing, looks sleek enough as it matches all my billet components. Love it, recommend it!

I ordered this upper to go on my 17 Designs Billet lower that I had laying around. I have several rifles I have built, ranging from Anderson lowers, Aero Precision M4E1 lowers, RRA lowers, and my 17 Designs lower... Once arrived, my lower was already primed and ready to receive the upper, so I immediately like a kid in a candy store attached it to my lower. Front takedown pin, inserted, no issue... Rear takedown pin.... problems.. would not go in smoothly.. It only went in maybe a quarter of the way, and I could not push the pin in by hand. I fiddled with it some more, lubed things up, nadda, same result.. Ok, I thought, "lets try these other lowers and see what happens, maybe it's this 17 Design model".... nope... It did fit "better" in the Anderson lower, but the same issue across the board. So I worked with it, lightly sanded a few areas by hand, and eventually got it to go in, but still required the use of a soft hammer to drive the takedown pin all the way in.. SUPER tight lock up at least! lol There is an adjustment screw in the lower for taking up slop between the lower and upper, so I tried that to see if it was possibly the issue, but it was not. I don't know if the holes are not aligned properly or what, but in order to service this weapon I will need my roll pin punches on hand to get the rear pin out. Not worth returning for a trade if you ask me, as everything else is perfect. I tested it the next day and it shoots great, holds nice groups, cycles without any pro
